Danjweb,

You're obviously disappointed with the event, and you do have a right to an opinion, but don't you think you've clearly made your point? Why do you have to try turning every thread into a put down of the event. Sorry, but if there's one thing I can't stand, it's someone who seems to go on a personal mission to put down the hard work of many people.

I see you clearly know so much about what a good trance event is about, so why not run one, and then other can perhaps come down and give you their opinions.

Fair to say that Tiësto now does play more than just trance, has done for a while now. If you look at the interview I did with him, then you will hear him talk about doing exactly that.

Thing is that I too have had some bad nights out in clubbing, but I don't see the point in getting wound up enough to start a personal vendetta against the promoter or headline DJ.

Come on dude, let others talk about their experience of the event rather than pushing your point across now.

This is a very good point and as i said earlier in this post had i known that it was gunna be like that i wouldn't have gone and certainly won't be going again......

Exactly. Although tbh Tiesto has lost it for quite some time now I wouldnt waste my cash on anything related to him. I listen to old Tiesto sets with classic big trance tracks compared to now and go WHAT THE FUCK?

To be perfectly honest, the set was exactly what I expected from the day (personally I never would have thought to have got a full trance set outside at that time of day), and I had a great time, we had one of the most beautiful days possible, out in the sun with music, as as far as I could tell from the people I saw, everyone was having a great time. A festival is about a lot more than just the track list.

Thats's just it. It wasn't his usual set, it was an event. I wasn't blown away as such by his music, it was about the overall day. He has to count for the masses.

Every dj is entitled to change their style, if you don't like it, then don't go.

For the record, and I am only going to say this one more time because it's starting to get on my tits. I had an amazing day, in fact one of the best days this year, but the last two times I have seen Tiesto, he has played more and more comeercial crap, and I certainly will not be going to see him again. Thanks.

I am not even a trance head, Stew is, I am into my Hard House and Drum and Bass, so to be honest, I actually don't give that much of a shit. But I can just totally understand where the trance heads are coming from, and that's why I have been backing what they've been saying.

Just before the music stopped, someone near us said "Will there be an interval soon?" and next thing we knew, the music was stopping!

As for the setlist, if Tiesto banged out four hours of non-stop uplifting classics no-one would have survived the whole night, there's always gotta be a build up, some slowdown and hell even the odd bit of filler in a set that long just so the people who don't like certain tunes can go to the loo or grab a drink or a bite to eat.

We were all really drunk for the first half of the set so it turned into a karaokefest for us during the commercial crap but we sobered up as the set got better and it was an amazing evening! The Gallery @ MOS was the perfect end to the evening, continuing the buzz we got from the last half hour of Tiesto's set until we'd had enough for the night.

So any bets on what Tiesto will try next? He seems to be going for bigger and bolder events so it'll be interesting to see what he does!

aaah right!!

I prefer nights out for a tenner like I had last week!!

train = free (season ticket)
club = free (Puzzle Project)
few red bulls (to wake me up) and a hot choc (to warm me up on the train home in the morning) = £10
