"CANDICE McKENZIE aka BLACK BARBIE"

Being a female DJ in such a male dominated industry, DJ Candice McKenzie takes great pleasure in proving that the power of the DJ is in their skill, and not their sex.

Ambitious, Versatile, Determined and Professional are just a few words used to describe Candice.

DJing professionally since 1999 and going under the DJ name of baby C, Candice, at the age of 17 began playing out at House Parties for friends before making her club debut in the Zar Bar in Ladywell, South East London playing Old Skool House. Her audience was shocked by her passion, knowledge and enthusiasm towards the Old Skool sounds. It was then that Candice realised that her love for the art of DJing was a feeling that was not going to go away and begun pursuing a more professional career.

Candice's career has gone from strength to strength. She continues to DJ in the UK, being booked to play in both Nightclubs and for Corporate Events, but now she is also a permanent figure in Europe, her amazing talent and right choice of music being her eternal ticket, taking her to countries such as Croatia, France, Greece, Russia, Siberia, Slovenia,Tbilisi in Georgia and the Ukraine. Candice played her first Stateside gig in Miami at The WMC for Echo Bravo / Usual Suspects and is looking forward to making her debut in Ibiza in June. She will be playing for the successful brand La Vita, gracing the decks for for the first time for the glamorous Charlys Angelz tour and spinning at Eden Rooms for Random.

When she is not spinning in the clubs, Candice keeps herself busy by working in the studio remixing Disco tracks. She has completed a re-edit of the Strikers classic 'Body Music' and also produced a track called 'I Can Read Your Mind'. Although there are no plans to release either track, they will be featured on Candice's Dolly Mixture CD's and in her DJ sets.

"BLACK BARBIE"

Black Barbie is the alter ego of DJ Candice McKenzie. Whilst playing her Soulful, Uplifting sound to many audiences around the globe, Candice was busy working on another project which she has been keeping under under wraps, until now. She has been putting her energy into a completely different style of electronic music, mainly Progressive & Tech House, Electro, Minimal and some Techno.

Candice wanted keep this new project completely separate from her regular DJ activities and only plays these kind of sets under the name Black Barbie, a name that’s a playful spin on her nickname which is Dolly.

Nicky Fingers is one of the most Versatile DJ's around, he can play any style of House Music from the Funky Disco, Soulful sounds to the Dirt and Grit of Jackin & Electro House. Nick has played all over the world holding down several residencies in the Baleric island of Ibiza plus you can see him spinning th wheels of steel for the Legendary Pams House and Phunky events across East Anglia and Honey Club in Brighton!!!
