I still think you should test the water out before booking international DJ's.....But it is your money and promotion behind it.

Try just 1 room and see what the reaction is from the crowd that allready go to your club? If it's good and they like it, do it some more & book a big name DJ/DJ's.

just been reading everyones comments and i think that a room playining dance music would be a great idea to see how it goes and if it takes off.
rather than jumping straight in to the main arena see how the people like it first and then maybe sort some kind of event that will be in the main room, and as it is liquid is always packed with people and is the main club in luton, so with the right promotions and the right people behind it all i dont see why it wouldnt work..

Also- I totally agree with sorting out the dress code. My mate wasn't allowed in cus he was wearing a no sleeves vest, he went home put a shirt on over it and went back, and they still wouldnt let him in!! But, then a whole crowd of RnB fellas walked in wearing wifebeaters and its ok for them... (but again thats down to the bouncers being pricks)

Thanks for the feedback, I'm sorry if that was the situation. What night did this happen as I would like to look in to it further? Do you know what doorman turned him away?

I would like to offer you a night out on us to apoligise.

if you want get your friend to email me at luton@liquidclub.com

maybe one or two international dj's like morrillo, eric prydz, mylo, paul van dyk and paul oakenfold even fatboy slim and then why not some local talent to warm up for them, people would travel from all over to see these guy's play as i have seen them play up and down the country over the years

wow if you could get just paul van dyk that would deff make my night, yeh liquid u deff need popular djs not that yours aint good but they seem to stick a few good songs on then back to RnB.

So Simon.......Have you considered any of these proposals @ all?

The reason I ask is that I heard on Chiltern FM (Before any of you ask... my van aerial has snapped) that you have the vocalist from 'Shanks & Bigfoots' track 'Sweet like chocolate' "performing" sometime soon?

I mean I'm no expert but surely they were like pre millenium and a one-hit-wonder...?

I can't think of anything more watered down and simplistic tbh with ya!

Its no wonder why Luton is stuck in the past with its music if all the big venues are too scared to do something different.

And to think that Luton (over the years) has had major influence on the rave/dance music scene:

CJA (Criminal Justice Act) - Brought in in 1994 to prevent the like of EXODUS (Mainly) and other organisations putting on illegal parties.

DJ's such as; Swanee, Karl 'Tuff Enough' Brown, Blame etc etc have come from Luton + Surounding areas and have been big players with their respective genres!

Also the Sanctuary was only 20 miles away, despite it being a 'dump' towards its end days it was one of its kind when its license was granted some many years ago.....

now that has gone the only place that seems to have club owners/promoters willing to put their money + mouth into putting on big nights is in London.... because its oh so 'Metro' or 'Classy' = WHATEVER!!

In the meantime tho, you will still have promoters like Paddy @ The Well + the Sensation crew doing what they do best:

'Putting on a party for party people' not because everyone else does but because they know its all good!

This thread has about every suggestions for parties/room sampling that you could possibly do, and now someone with a profile pic taken in your club says your DJ's are naff.....

You have people on this thread from roughly 3 different promotions offering input..... they have given you their thoughts (nearly all positive) so c'mon lets get the ball rolling and 'putpentopaper'.
