also the sound system is pretty wank too.

the roof became shit as soon as they went to the funky house only policy. when they did drum and bass there it was live and was easily rammed out with about 450 people each event. since then i have never seen it even close to how busy it was when they did drum and bass there

thats why i dropped the funky house only policy, it was a wank idea as you so succinctly put it. no restrictions now, its house to hardcore, garage to dnb and everything in between. were coming back in a big way.

well you might want to consult the other dnb promoters in maidenhead before you start trying to compete with them. and try and organise it so you dnb nights dont conflict with other peoples. mine included ;-)

linus, if i put on any dnb events, youll be the first to know, but not planning it just yet. maybe in the summer when we get all our big name acts done. and anyway. i hire promoters to do that for me

well i was running a pretty successful dnb night at the phatz bar until they decided to buckle and only want to do cheese nights there. not really a jump up dnb night more the stuff that has soul in it and vocals. liquid funk dnb that kinda thing. had guests down like john b, greenfly, dj deep, dj vapour. the thing with doing nur night is the fact that we were getting people into the night who were not really into dnb and were by the end of it.

if your looking for promoters to do a dnb night then i would be inerested as i am hunting venues at the moment as its all very up in the air if we are going to continue to carry on at the phatz. the night we did with john b playing was absolutely rammed to the rafters and we ha people from as far away as chesterfield travelling down to see him.

i used to dj at the dnb night at the roof a few years ago which was more on the jump up side of things but have never ever seen the place so busy.

incidentally i am pretty good mates with a lot of the big dj's and producers in the dnb scene so might be able to sort you some lineups that are cheaper than normal too.

but generally the ngiht we run at the phatz is usually the 1st saturday of the month.
