That time again for another session of Fling at The Loft in Maidstone- this year has seen us host 3 awesome nights, now 6 months down the line we’re gaining more and more attention for hosting quality parties in Kent’s premier underground club, we’ve had the opportunity to bring world class DJ’s direct to the ears of Kents more discerning clubber, and so far, we think we’ve done a damn good job! Headliners so far have been the legendary Lee Burridge, uber cool Annie Mac and the royalty that is King Unique, make no mistake people, things are looking to only improve in the coming year…

October’s Fling saw host to Excession’s King Unique, and what a night it was- once again we packed out The Loft with beautiful people that, as always showed our guest that Maidstone is to definitely be taken seriously when it comes to hardcore partying! Starting things off upstairs were up and coming locals Dodek and Ali Raise of Maidstone’s Rebel Beat Faction playing a 2 hour back to back warm up- on the menu was a fine selection of deep techno and jackin minimal that got the locals grooving away in preparation for another long night of upfront, underground musical debauchery. Next up was local hero Luke Dzierzek, fresh out of the studio and raring to go, Luke smashed it with an extremely forward thinking selection of tech and stripped back house that led on perfectly to the melody laden filthyness that was King Unique- an artist that over the past 5 years has gone from strength to strength with legendary productions such as “Sugar High”, “Flashing Lights” and “To The Left” as well as touring the globe showcasing their awesome DJ talents.
Peak time, 2 o’clock on the morning, King Unique step up to the decks facing a sweaty main room- well warmed up and raring to go KU played a blinder of a set, on the agenda was quality, filthy uplifting house music that even the most reserved listener could not refuse a hip shake or two. Stand out tracks include King Unique’s Remix of Tracy Thorn’s “Grand Canyon” and DubFire’s brooding techno monster of a remix of Christian Smith & Johh Selway’s “Transit Time”. Last but by no means least was Nick Liousias, Nick played a legendary set encompassing a wide range of pant-wettingly good tunes including (cue screams) Underworld’s “2 months off” and Pig & Dan’s “Sweet September”, which was quite possibly the biggest tune of the night. The boy done good.

With just under 2 months to go till my main boy Jesus’s birthday, we thought we’d go for something a little different for the last Fling of 2007, with our list of headliners already looking pretty impressive, we thought it might be time for a Fling Production showcase night to show all you Lords and Ladies of Maidstone our Label artists, of course those in the know will already be more than familiar with our work- but for all of you who don’t- here is your opportunity…

As usual Fling head honcho’s Luke Dzierzek and Nick Liousias will be holding up the fort with their awesome tune selection of underground house and techno, but on top of that we also have each artist we have released so far on the line up. First up, from our second record (Fling 002), flown in especially from Switzerland comes Le Noir. His record “Eleny” has caused huge repercussions in the dance industry- featuring an epic remix by our Luke, and a deep, deep, deep remix by the genius that is RadioSlave. Getting hammered from Fabric to DC10- we hope you look forward to Le Noirs Debut performance in the UK, right on your own doorstep. Next up is another one of our signings (Fling 003) slightly more local this time (Ashford to be precise) we present an extremely up and coming producer and DJ under the name of TG- already signed to Fling (and with releases on Four:Twenty & Infant) his “Night Surfer EP” has been rocking dancefloors all over the world receiving huge support from the likes of Steve Lawler, James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Agoria, Futurshock, Hector Romero, Spooky, Peace Division, Hybrid and AudioFly. TG is sure to rock the main room with his tight selection of groovy-as-fuck minimal, scratchy tech and bouncy electro.
Last up we have local youngster Ali Raise of The Rebel Beat Faction- Maidstone’s answer to mediocre dance music. Get ready for some rib shattering, sub laden techno and groovy tech house from one of Kent’s up and coming DJ talents.

Downstairs we have the DeepSouthSessions boys serving up an (un)healthy dose of deep house, with resident DJ’s Nick Carter, Graeme Doyle & Nathan Doe. This in combination with our awesome décor, additional lighting and The Lofts brand new Martin Audio Soundsystem will ensure yet another amazing Fling.
So scrap all plans for December 1st, get to Maidstone, come to The Loft and Dance your arse off…
