Clive Henry and Justin Drake make up one of House Music’s most influential production duos, Peace Divison. They are also the force behind the Low pressings label. Clive and Rocky (Xpress2) formed the label Low Pressings in 1996, originally as an outlet for Peace Division and Soul Purpose productions. Now with nearly 100 releases in the bag, Low Pressings is now considered to be one of the most highly respected underground dance labels originating from the UK and distributed worldwide. Peace Division have released their own tracks through Low Pressings, Camouflage (USA), Hooj and JBO. Remixes by this dynamic duo have included Moby’s ‘natural blues’, Trancetters ‘Roaches‘, Katchas ‘touched by God’, Xpress 2 ‘lazy‘ and the phenomenally successful Rui da Silvas ‘Touch Me‘ (this reached no:1 in the UK national chart)
The long awaited album featuring all their own material Junkyard Funk spiralled Peace Division into the spotlight. It was received to great acclaim by DJ’s
worldwide. Danny Tenaglia reported “never before have I played so many tracks by the same artist in one night!” Peace Division came up with the goods yet again. On the remix front Peace Division have completed Vanden Plas for Independiente and a track for James Lavelle’s notorious UNKLE project. Add this to the astounding success of the NRK trilogy Beatz in Peacez and you can see what prolific artistes these boys are!
Forthcoming releases to look out for are new single on tsuba, a remix for steve lawlers viva label and a mix for cutting edge techno label hypercolour.
Individually both have enjoyed huge success too. Both have hectic individual DJ schedules but it is Clive’s residency at Ibiza infamous DC10 for it’s flagship Monday Session Circo Loco that most will be familiar with.
Completing the DJ line up are your resident’s Mode:Repeat (who will be celebrating Duncan K’s birthday), local house music legend Rob Cockerton and Loft debutante (yet no stranger to the clubs’ dancefloor) Tom Jobson.
This is surely another classic night to remember, make sure you don’t miss it!
