Open for six consecutive nights (nine including the Bank Holiday!!) from Bank Holiday Monday 5th May to Saturday 10th May, it will be One Big Week at The Loft with the venue playing a big part of Radio 1’s Big Weekend - The Fringe Festival as well as hosting the Maidstone debuts of Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe and Adam Ficek from Babyshambles, in addition to the welcome return of drum and bass pioneer Fabio. All lineups have now been finalised and we’re ready and eager to reveal all…

The Loft takes centre stage for Radio 1’s Big Weekend - The Fringe Festival**
From Bank Holiday Monday 5th May to Thursday 8th May, BBC Radio 1 will be showcasing bands from Maidstone and Kent as part of Radio 1's Big Weekend - The Fringe Festival. The Fringe will celebrate the local music scene, from guitar bands through to bedroom DJs, MCs and everything in between. The Loft will take centre stage for this festival by hosting an event every night including an over 14s live bands all dayer featuring the likes of The Onlookers and Poppy and Tom on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May and two further Fringe events headlined by South Wood and Underground Heroes on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th May respectively.

Also BBC Kent’s Introducing Night at The Fringe will be taking place at The Loft on the Tuesday night – This night will also feature the two Kent bands that will be live in Mote Park on the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Listen to Huw Stephens’ Radio 1 show Wednesday 30th April midnight-2am for the big announcement of which 2 Kent bands will get the chance to play Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Following the Big Weekend Fringe its all eyes on the weekend as The Loft launches our new and improved indie night called I Should Coco on Friday 9th May. For this huge event we’re delighted to welcome award winning Radio 1 presenter Zane Lowe for his first ever performance in Maidstone. Needless to say Zane is one of the most in-demand DJs on the planet and this booking represents one of the biggest ever for The Loft. Not unlike his radio show, Zane’s DJ sets are truly outstanding and cover the entire music spectrum. Zane will be joined by our indie and rock residents with BBC Introducing showcasing the best local live bands from 8pm – 11pm downstairs. We hope you can join us for this epic night!!

** Saturday 10th May- Riot launches with Babyshambles / Liquid Sessions welcomes a drum & bass godfather**
Bringing the biggest week in The Loft’s history to a close is another huge event as we welcome Adam Ficek from seminal band Babyshambles to headline the launch of our new Saturday indie dance event Riot. As one of the most talked about bands of recent years, Babyshambles have headlined arena shows worldwide and enjoyed two top 10 albums since forming in 2003. Adams DJ sets incorporate rock, indie, punk and everything in between and no doubt many new cuts from the band itself. Downstairs The Liquid Sessions host their biggest event to date when they welcome drum & bass legend Fabio. Recognised globally as one of the godfathers of the liquid scene, Fabio has entertained millions be it through his awe-inspiring DJ sets or his ground breaking Radio 1 show. His debut for The Liquid Sessions has been long awaited to say the least and everyone at the club cannot wait to see it happen!!
