Unit A. Hart Street. Maidstone 1992 to 2000. A true golden era for clubbing in Kent’s county town. A dark and dirty venue packed week in week out to the sounds of a who’s who of dance music: from Paul Oakenfold to Carl Cox, Andy C to Sasha, Boy George to DJ Hype and John Digweed to LTJ Bukem, everyone who meant anyone to the UK house and drum’n’bass scenes during the mid and late nineties graced this simple yet monstrous club. This venue was ATOMICS.

6 years down the line and following significant pressure from those who attended Atomics week in week out, River is delighted to host the 1st ever Atomics Reunion on Bank Holiday Sunday 28th May (no work Monday!). For one night only we invite everyone to enjoy a massive party in its honour, whether you’re reliving old memories or looking for your chance to experience the spirit of times gone by, this is for you.

The music policy will be classic acid house and old skool drum ‘n’ bass over two floors. Upstairs, former Cream and Gatecrasher resident and original ClubClass favourite John Kelly returns to Maidstone to deliver a very special set crammed full of tunes that defined this generation. John has been recognised in the legendary status for sometime now and his headline slot will be something to behold.

Downstairs Atomics fave Brockie takes to the decks to showcase a very special Pure Science Classics set. During the Pure Science Days Brockie played on numerous occasions and would always play to a packed crowd. Now back behind the Atomics banner Brockie endeavours to bring with him the ultimate in old school Jungle and Drum and Bass.

MC Fearless is another huge star of Atomics. During the progression of jungle into drum and bass, Fearless grew into a superstar of the scene, regularly appearing across Europe and helping to spread the message. In particular, he has been hugely influential in taking the music across the pond to Canada and still retains his links there with his label Hustlin’Beats.

No Atomics Reunion could happen without the appearances of George Andrews, Dready, Richie Weaver and Ollie who have all been busy digging out the incredible tunage that epitomised their amazing residencies at the club. And to top it off we welcome to the night a further 6 DJs who were dedicated clubbers at the venue and who will all be bringing the vinyl that rocked their world on the Atomics dancefloor; Sam Ball, Sam Gregory, James Allardyce, Rich Belsom, Affinity and Illistrate.

So for one night only join us in resurrecting quite possibly the most influential nightclub ever in the South East of England. For the nightclub that defined a generation for Kent’s clubbers is back...
