That’s right, it’s very true – Two of Maidstone’s biggest breaks brands Babyshake and Basslick are teaming up to celebrate their joint birthdays with a very special lineup at the Source on Maundy Thursday 20th March, kicking off the long weekend!

First off from their recent hectic DJ schedule we’re lucky enough to have down Justin Rushmore and Jem Panufnik, AKA Soul of Man. Legendary breaks producers and remixers together responsible for setting up the world famous Finger Lickin’ Records, along with some of the best breaks around. Including hits such as Sukdat and Killabrew.

Joining the boys will be the equally phenomenal Drumattic Twins. These guys have played just about everywhere - Known for their funky acid fuelled breaks hits including Feelin’ Kinda Strange, Rocksteady, Twisted and far too many more to list. Both are sure to cleanup at this Thursdays breaks awards.

Not only this but we’re privileged to have a third Fingerlickin combo down to complete our headline bill in the form of Disco-breakz-funkster combo Slyde.
Made up of two well-worn and respected veterans of the dance music world: Robin 12Tree and Jason Laidback. Currently celebrating the launch of their debut album and blowing the breaks scene apart with their funk fuelled beats. These are definitely two guys to watch out for in 2008.

Joining the Fingerlickin’ posse Basslick residents Mezza Breaks will be joining in the fun with their usual electro-breaks shennanigans. Alongside Babyshake residents the Shake DJs who’ll be causing mayhem with their awesome mix of breaks and beats.

Upstairs will be hosted by Smack Princess dropping their trademark electro/minimal sounds from the likes of Matt Cox (Vacation /RooStar), Col Hollingsbee of RBF, Dr Bo$$ and Deanoloco who’s recent sets for MTD & Detakid in the Lounge Bar have been the talk of the Source.

Outside in the courtyard we’re pleased to have down East Anglian breaks veterans
Crackerz and Jam who’ll be cooking the beats outside under their Fat Factory banner – accompanied with the likes of Tom Wilkes promoter and resident of Norwich’s Stuff parties, and Zav promoter and DJ of Twisted Skunk. Not to mention both organisers of the world’s first breaks weekender in Gt. Yarmouth.

As an added mention we’ll be holding collections for several charities on the night including the NSPCC. So please give generously for this worthy cause.

This is sure to be a roadblock event and so make sure you get down early to avoid disappointment!
