New Manchester Superclub Gets Ready for Lift-Off with Kissdafunk

Today brings great news for Manchester dance music lovers as new superclub, AREA51 announces it will open its doors on Friday 01st February with a new monthly residency from clubbing giant, Kissdafunk.
It follows weeks of speculation that the venue formerly known as Emporia had been sold to new owners. The rumours were true and after a complete new refit, management and a fresh brand identity, it will reopen as AREA51; specialising in putting on the very best in house, electro, techno and minimal nights.
Recently lauded in International clubbing magazine, Mixmag, as one of the best clubbing nights of 2007, Kissdafunk is the club phenomenon from Leeds. Its roadblock parties at Mission have also spawned successful seasons in Ibiza with its untouchable recipe of upfront house and electro, and mad-capped, friendly crowd. They hope to bring this same mixture to AREA51.
For its maiden voyage, original KDF residents The Trophy Twins, who hosted their own Radio 1 show for three years and co-founder/resident Rob Tissera will headline. Both artists who have enjoyed international and chart success and have become keystones in its rise. Their abundance of energy and enthusiasm exudes, onto the dance floor and the distinctive pink logos and KDF girls have been central to Kissdafunk’s growing appeal.
Therein after, Kissdafunk will return every first Friday of the month with a selection of different KDF residents and special guests.
Rob Tissera asserts,” It was clubbing in Manchester at the Hacienda which sparked my love affair with dance music and inspired my career. With Kissdafunk we’ve always had it in our aim to recreate that raw excitement and energy it used to process. We intend to bring a healthy dose of this to our nights at AREA51”
