With Coalition “Scream If You Want To Go Harder” now just over 2 weeks away, we thought we’d grab The Tidy DJ’s, JoJo and Toolbox new signing Tim Stokes for a few questions about their forthcoming debut sets on our dancefloor…

Manchester is ready and waiting for your debut set at Coalition “Scream if you want to go harder” this Friday 24th October. How exactly are you going to make the hard house scream?

Tim Stokes – I’m not going to wear any makeup!!

Tidy DJs – I’m going to stand on Deano’s toes in the middle of a mix! On a serious note we will just do what we always do and play an eclectic mix of pumped up party music for the harder generation!

JoJo - By playing some energetic & banging tunes… gonna thrap it out!!!!

What would make you scream on a dark night in October?

Tim Stokes - Them dark canal bridges in that part of Manchester are pretty scary!!!

Tidy DJs - Spiders, I f#*kin hate the them, i would probably scream any night if I saw a really big one!

JoJo - Adam M… same as most nights ;0)

Knowing what you know about the dirty going’s on at Coalition (we’re on about the music here!!!)… On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited about your first appearance at Manchester’s hottest hard house event?

Tim Stokes - Really can’t wait to be honest so 20!!

Tidy DJs - I’m probably hovering around a 9 at the moment, but come next week I’m definitely going to be a full 10/10, I think I may wee myself.

JoJo - Only a scale of 1 to 10!!! I’m well more exited, it’s more like 10 x 10 = 100 hehe

Can you treat us to an insight of what tracks you have ready for our floor?

Tim Stokes - One I’ve recently done with Steve Maynard called “Jumped Up” is going to get its first testing for sure. A track I’m really into by the P.A.S lads called “Rough Cut” is unreal and gonna get played for sure. And “Slow Vibration” by Dom Sweeten and Ian Jay I think will go down perfectly too.

Tidy DJs - Jon BW’s ‘Council House’ (Tidy DJs Remix) – this a brand new remix we have done for a forthcoming Toolbox project, and it’s going to be getting its first play down at coalition! Exclusive or what…
Technikal Feat MC Whizz Kid - Music For A Harder Generation (UK Gold Remix) – Just released on Tidy Music Library Issue 04, this is probably the biggest track in our box at the moment!
Guyver meets Sam Townend – Fat Box – It’s just phat, in a box kind of way….

Playing for Red and Toolbox must be quite rewarding… you’ve been picked out of the crowd! Let us all into the secret of getting booked?

Tim Stokes - Being this good looking it’s easy to see how I was booked!

Tidy DJs - Cake, it’s a well known industry fact that all promoters have a sweet tooth, and Deano loves baking cake. Get your buns out and you’re guaranteed to see your bookings rocket!!

JoJo - Yes very rewarding!! A little bit of dirty dancing in front of the promoter (Kate) always helps hehe ;)

The meaning for COALITION (noun) is “alliance; merging of various units into one unit”… As a single unit merging with other DJs on the decks at Coalition what will you bringing that’s individual to the pack?

Tim Stokes - Hopefully a nice blend of groove and tuffness!!!

Tidy DJs - The most upfront music from the Tidy stable as well as some exclusive Tidy DJ remix and edits of classic Cliff Richard hits from the 1960’s.

JoJo - I think I have my own individual sound which is hard but with that cheeky edge to it, hopefully that will make me stand out enough.

If Coalition was to throw another “Scream If You Want To Go Harder” event, but this time in a King sized bed that would only have room for 2 other DJs and 2 guests… who would they be?

Tim Stokes - The two other DJs would be Dave Owens and Pierce Rooney b2b. And my guests would be James Devlin from devotion in Ireland (seriously good DJ!!) And Twist resident Steve Maynard!!! In fact I think that lineup needs to be done!!! Get on the case Nik n Kate !!!!!

Tidy DJs - Our girlfriends, and the 2 DJs would be Ben ‘The Bear’ Stevens (he’s just so cuddly!), and also Morgan as he doesn’t own his own bed and sleeps in a skip.

JoJo – DJs would be obviously my boyfriend Adam M and deffo Paul Glazby. The guests would be Danny Dyer…. hmmmmm yummy ;0) And then last but definitely not least the gorgeous Kate Hammond!!
(That would be 1 naughty bed hehehe)

Finally, what drink do you want waiting in the DJ box when you arrive? A drink says a lot about a DJ (IE: Nik Denton like s a glass of pinot)…

Tim Stokes - A well made caipirinha would be great please Nik!!! Pure unrefined raw cane rum!!! On crushed ice with lime juice, effing ace!!!!
