I cant believe how much attitude there was in sankeys and how many people they tried to cram into the venue also, I dont agree with what the promoters did to some of the djs that where playing in other rooms, i find it discusting that they had the nerve to cut greg morris set half way through so they could pipe the main room into the whole of the club. how do sankeys think they will get other djs to play for them if this what they are going to do.

This was my first and last time at sankeys and i have spoken to fellow clubbers regarding this and they have also said they will not be returning the venue either.

Well said... I felt exactly the same and will never return to Sankeys. Talk about greedy cramming all those people into the venue. Had a great night the next night Armin played though at Godskitchen Air... Now there's a venue and a promoter that didn't overfill the venue just to make more money!!! Sankeys - stop being so greedy and treat the trancers with the respect they deserve!!!!

TBH I agree with you guys but let's face it Sankey's is not really a 'trance club' given that they mostly host house/DnB/etc. Needless to say my partner and I won't be going back there though - just too crowded. Whatever happened to Manchester Academy btw? That place, albeit quite basic (i.e 1 floor, just 2-3 rooms), would have been perfect.

We were particularly gutted as we'd only just Armin at the Syndicate in Blackpool and he completely blew the place apart and for only 8 quid!

Long story short - promoters are always going to try and cram as many people in as possible - it's how they earn their living. I guess the trick is to find the clubs where you know ahead of time there'll be enough room to dance inside of standing in one spot for 6 hrs cuz you're tired of wading through millions of people.

Just my two cents.

thats sankeys for you, as people have already said Sankeys is mainly a house club.

unfortunately the club itself attracts a large amount of people who are going "just because its sankeys" and have very little interest in the lineup.

Needless to say even tho it was silly rammed i had a great night at Above & Beyond's gig.
