Good DJ's, BAD VENUE ORGANISATION!
To start with, let me tell you how excited my friends and I were to see Armin van Buuren again after the imprint he left upon us at Global UK. The time between then and this event was spent in complete anticipation of the next time we could see him. I’m sure anyone will accept that it is not only the music but the venue and the crowd that has a massive impact on how the night plays out and here is where the downfall was. Sankeys, Manchester surely admitted twice the amount of people they should have, the venue was rammed and anyone who loves trance knows you need a bit of room and some air to fully enjoy the music. Armin’s set as usual was amazing however I felt this DJ was too big for this venue, in my opinion their greed overthrew their common sense and the venue was ultimately filled beyond acceptable capacity. Just a warm up though as the following evening my friends and I would be travelling to Air Birmingham for Godskitchen.... Thank God!
The crowd in the venue didn’t have the same vibes as the crowd in the Godskitchen tent and I did actually witness three women stood behind us, arms folded and sour faces through Armin’s entire set. Something wrong there!!!! If you can’t even show a little appreciation by smiling occasionally why be there????
Glen Morrision gave a great set for us to warm up for Armin and I have to say it must be a hard act to precede as it is probably true that most of the people in the crowd were there for Armin. The heat and the claustrophobia was the main restriction on the level of enjoyment and for this reason I will probably never return to Sankey’s, we’re trance heads not sardines!!!! Don’t wanna get all serious at this point but if anything had happened in that night club getting everyone out would’ve been so dangerous!
Armin is better than Sankeys .

unfortunately Sankeys is probably the only venue in Manchester that can afford Armin, :(

i agree it gets way 2 busy :(

tho if u can wait till past 2-3am the club empties rather quickly as all the general pissheads tend to leave :)

It's true Sankeys gets busy but also true what wasi-c-o-t n said about piss heads leaving at that time, gives you a more room to dance.
I have never encountered any attitudes or bad heads whilst i have been there (i used to work in security so i was looking)and will return this friday 13th november and bringing 8 other people too.

Also the air con has been fixed as in august time one of the dj's (Adam Flexer) told me was broken at that time

Unfortunately Sankeys had a lot of issues with their air con system in August, and it packed up on the night... all has been set straight now, and there will be the added bonuses of ice cannons on the night to keep everyone extra cool :) "
