Well I’m not sure about you lot, but Easter weekend was packed full of awesome fun for us Toucans! Thanks to all those that came down to the Ware After? parties at Spirit over the weekend – ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!
Although Easter is now over, don't fret as there is more to come! Summer is approaching and everyone is getting their summer groove on, and we are no different. Continuing our focus on showcasing the UK's best talent only, we have a line-up not to be missed coming up on FRIDAY 15th MAY at THE ATTIC, MANCHESTER. Headlining the night will be London based TSUBA RECORDS boss KEVIN GRIFFITHS, with NIBIRU resident DAVID HULME supporting! Lovely stuff…

Now nearly 3 years old, TSUBA RECORDS is one of the UK's leading labels releasing deep, sexy underground house&techno.
Kevin has been a DJ for more than 10 years and also has a London based club night called 'ISSST'. He has played all over and in 2008 spun at Fabric, The End and T Bar in London, Lost Baggage in Sydney, Zouk in Singapore, Snatch in Miami, City Hall in Barcelona and for Mandarine Crew in Mexico City so has been recognized globally as well as in the UK. Last year he mixed the second 'ISSST' double mix CD released through Global Underground!
Kevin also started producing in 2007 and his debut single 'Jaguar Shoes' appeared on Global Underground's after-hours compilation and picked up support from the likes of Sasha through to 2000 and One. Last year he released 2 remixes on TSUBA; one of Steve Lawler's and Dakotta.
Kevin's most recent release 'CANTONA KUNG FU' is on a deeper, housier tip and has been a popular choice for many DJs of late. A further remix of Ali Nasser will also be released in early 2009 on Audiofly's SUPERNATURE Label, continuing his run of success and firmly securing his place as one of the UK's most exciting names at the moment.

Leeds based DJ DAVID HULME has recently gained a residency at one of Manchester's newest club nights NIBIRU. Last month saw him play at Spektrum for the NIBIRU launch party with one of Spain's most recently talked about names Danny Fiddo, and with Johnny D coming up in May his residency there is shaping up to be good one. David has also been heavily involved in one of Leeds' biggest nights, System. He is making some exciting noise on the Northern circuit at the moment with his playful, grooving Tech House sound drawing the crowd to the dance floor, a future name to watch in the UK? Most definitely!

A slick combination of two contrasting styles in TOUCAN RAVE residents/co-owners JOE PALIN & HASAN KHAN comes in the form of 'THEM'. The duo started out in September to coincide with the memorable TOUCAN RAVE launch party with Danny Lilwall and the boys from KeToLoCo. Since then, their presence on the Manchester Underground circuit has seen them headline nights for Kotnstadt, A Bit Catchy in Preston, the WareAfter? parties at Spirit as well as regular slots in the bar at SANKEYS for DISCO ELECTRONICA supporting Paul Woolford and Funk D'Void. More recently, Leeds based PALIN was invited to play along side support guest DAVID HULME for the NIBIRU launch night with spanish hot cake Danny Fiddo! With their regular monthly slot at TOUCAN RAVE, future gigs at SANKEYS for DISCO ELECTRONICA supporting Jamie Jones, Clive Henry and Paul Ritch....with a possible place at parties in Ibiza this summer; the future definitely looks bright for 'Them'.

The other residents/co-owners of TOUCAN RAVE, JUSTIN CULKIN & JOE GABBITAS have began to carve their own distinct sound into Manchester's and in fact the UK clubbing circuit. With a history of holding student raves in High Wycombe, sets at the infamous Lost Souls daytime parties at Public Life in Shoreditch, as well as the more recent WareAfter? parties alongside 'THEM', SCARECROW AUDIO have a lot more up their sleeves with the regular TOUCAN RAVE parties at THE ATTIC as well as the DISCO ELECTRONICA nights at SANKEYS. With the production wheels already in motion, and talks of a label launch later in 2009, these quality producers/DJs are another duo to watch out for on future bills.
