THE TECHNO EXPERIMENT

@THE MUSIC BOX
OXFORD ROAD
MANCHESTER
M1 6QF

SATURDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2007

10pm till 4am

Frantically bashing at the boundaries of sound, The Techno Experiment enters stage three of its mission to present a fresh and forward thinking direction to the electronic movement. Tonight we step up a gear, shifting to Manchester’s premiere underground dance venue The Music Box for our most daring and jaw dropping line-up to date. This will be a night of pure attitude, pulling together previously unheard partnerships from many different corners of the industry. We present you with a night of experimental mayhem from the cream of the global techno movement. Unmissable.

ADE FENTON AND JAMIE BISSMIRE

Advanced Indie/Techno crossover giant Ade Fenton recently produced Gary Numan’s monster ‘Jagged’ album, reaching Top 3 in the BBC Indie chart. With the record for most tracks in a mix on Radio 1, his ‘Live At Maida Vale’ performance made the world sit up and take notice. Expect a frenetic pace as he’s joined by one of the best in the business Jamie Bissmire from the legendary Space DJz outfit. Jamie’s recorded for the giant independent Novamute label and runs his own gangsta fuelled 50Hz imprint.

PLAYER (LIVE) - UK

Faceless, flawless and fearless, secret underground producers come out of the shadows to spit fire on the Manchester movement. Player formed their own anonymous artist label but has since gone on to release undisclosed music from some of the worlds most high profile artists; all anonymous of course. This is where house, hip-hop and electro accompany dark techno undertones – a true diversification of sound. Undercover lo-fi experimentalism at its fiercest.

MARK EG & JON NUCCLE (MICRODOT REUNION)

Fifteen years ago the Microdot organisation were the first to bring some of the worlds biggest electronic names to the UK stage. Tonight we re-unite two of their founding members. Mark’s chameleon-like approach to techno has crossed many different scenes over the years. Tonight he meets former buddy Jon Nuccle from Cold Dust. Expect the ethos of labels like Red Seal and Core mixed perfectly with Mark’s Blackout Audio and ‘The Anxious’ sound. This will be a historic and emotional reunification.

PAUL MAC (CLASSICS SET)

Direct from Carl Cox’s Intec label, his own C-side moniker and over fifty other labels, Paul Mac is a prolific producer indeed. Tonight Paul will play the final set – a mash-up of music from years gone by to polish off a classic night of future experimentation. A pure mix of industry and electronics, just how it was meant to be. The originators would have been proud. The perfect end to a perfect night.

MUCKY BEATS & D JACQUES FEAT RASCAL

Techno Experiment Promoter Mucky offers D Jacques of Ardpressed to the decks for a fresh, minimal, funky, booty flavoured mix featuring Tangled resident DJ Rascal, scratching & beat dropping.

ORIEL AND TIPTOE

Techno experiment promoter Oriel and Tiptoe will have the party in a frenzy with their clever choice of techno and upfront styles.

ROOM 2: ALTERNATIVE ROOM (ELECTRO/MINIMAL/WONK/CHICAGO/OLD SCHOOL/WHATEVER)

At last, an alternative room. All different styles of techno. A forward thinking experiment. Anything goes.
