Basement Jaxx [ DJ Set ]
Part 2 of our opening weekend launch party looks a pretty tasty affair. We've lined up some old favourites, some new talent and some young DJ's who have been taking 2008 by storm. Heading up the line up are Basement Jaxx who roll into town for their first appearance at the Warehouse Project. Rising to popularity in the late 90’s, releases such as “Red Alert” and “Where’s Your Head At?” brought the Brixton duo to the attention of the nations clubbers. Headline appearances at Glastonbury 2005 and DJ slots on the Space Terrace followed as the world caught onto the fact that brilliant tunes were backed by riotous, carnival style live performances and DJ sets that took in everything from house, ragga, booty bombs and bastardised boot legs. The stars came calling too as Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott and N.E.R.D all requested a Jaxx remix after the pair proved they could make perfect pop with the likes of "Romeo" and "Just One Kiss". With a fifth studio album currently being concocted somewhere in the darkest depths of the Basement Jaxx creative lab, who knows what Felix and Simon will come up with next? One thing is for sure, they will be back at the Warehouse Project to do what they do best.....rocking a party to its very core.

Duke Dumont
If big tunes are your thing then you'll probably have Duke Dumonts, "Lean & Bounce" etched permanently onto your brain, or at least pretty much on repeat on your I-Pod. Hammered by the likes of Erol Alkan, Annie Mac and Switch all last year, this jacked up little monster caused the type of dancefloor pandemonium usually reserved for gig mosh pits. If you think this guys a one trick pony, then think again. His recent remix of The Mystery Jets "Two Doors Down" is almost Carl Craig-esque. So, is Duke Dumont the natural heir to the Basement Jaxx throne? Get ready to find out as three of London's finest prepare to test out the Store Street bass bins.

Riton
Riton is no stranger to Store Street having played twice last year as part of the massive We Love...and Radio Soulwax events. This year he has carried on his successful residency at We Love...Space, winning rave reviews along the way. It appears the Ibizan hordes rather like his all compassing DJ style where you’re as likely to hear the latest electro banger, as you are a cheeky Talking Heads edit. Riton has released on Get Physical and Modular as well as remixing Simian Mobile Disco, Datarock and Para One. And if that's not enough, he's just about to finish a Krautrock album with his brother in law and two members of Soulwax. He's a pretty talented chap is Mr. Riton.

Disco Bloodbath
Whilst room 1 plays host to Basement Jaxx et al, room 2 says hello to a collective that have been creating stirs or a different musical kind. Disco Bloodabath have been throwing phenomenal, debauched parties at their secret London HQ's for over a year now. Hijacking basements, taking over lofts and playing to a colourful mixed up crowd of fags, hags, deadbeats and wide boys, their events have steadily been gaining notoriety with a genre defying, dance floor smashing music policy. Over the last year guests at Disco Bloodbath have included Richard Sen (Padded Cell), Severino (Horse Meat Disco), Frank Tope (Rooty), Rune Lindbaek (Klubb Kebab, Norway), Lee Douglas (Rong Music, NYC), Lovefingers (Black Disco, LA),Tako (CBS.nu/Rotterdam), Nadia Ksaiba (Our Disco/Bugged Out), Toby Tobias (Rekids) and not forgetting their super residents, Dan Beaumont, Damon Martin & Ben Pistor.
