If you read my profile, you will see that I love my Funky House, i am married to a House Dj. And I do like some of the chart stuff. I was bought up in the 70/80's and so the chart stuff was more widely listened to. Its this school playground bitching behaviour that makes the majority of margate residents so ignorant.

im just glad now there are more options opening up in Margate so it atleast gives people the choice to do something different - i think the problem i have is that people dont like change and get stuck into a routine of the same old same every week thats why Escape is stuck playing the same commercial stuff over and over, i remember a couple of times when i was there in my youth you would hear a particular mainstream chart house tune 5 or 6 times in one night... now whats that about??

Im sure you understand as being a DJ yourself - a night should be all about educating the crowd and taking them on a journey through music and play what you really want to play - every DJ should have their own sound and style - not just play the same tune over and over because they know people will like it and dance...

everyone has something bad to say about every club if it not their thing b ut if you think about it, if everyclub was excactly the same, with same music, same people ect how boring would that be!. I cant stand escape, not cos of the djs, as they wicked, it just all the young people in there i dont like, but hey that why i dont go in there, each to ther own right? as for the above message... they play the music they do because that what they customers want to hear, correct me if im wrong but ive always thought that what makes a good dj... playing for the crowd?

You got it.. thats why i know now if i was on one unfortunate night to end up in esc i know i wouldnt enjoy it because it will be the same music, the same crowd, the same night - i think people should always be out looking for new experiences thats why the Sugar is good as they hold more diverse nights providing different music styles. i can only hope Margate and the surrounding area are ready for some change and try out something different you dont know they may like it??

True enough but its a commercial club and they do have to give the majority what they want.
I am all for educating people with music, but at the end of the day we are only playing tunes. Some people will like what we play, some people wont, different strokes for different folks.
