Fantastic Start to the year for Stim
Well done Ian and the Stimulation Crew !!!!!!!!!

Well what can I say apart from a quality start to the New year for Sugars resident Hard House outfit Stimulation. Even had to put extra door staff on as it was that busy !!!

I was amazed at the amount of people who turned out so soon after Christmas. I think we thought this was going to be a quiet one :-) Well Quiet is a strange word to use for Hard House because that is the least it could be.

New boy on the block Dom was fired up to play his first ever set to a crowd at Sugar. His début was at Pulse on the 23rd of December but there was hardly anyone there for that set, even some of the stim crew were late turning up, as this was a very early set. That set was faultless but Dom, I think, was disappointed to be playing to so few. Last night, however, was a different story. The place was rocking and a huge crowd, many of which were not HH fans turned up to hear Dom Play.

I do not think anyone could be disappointed in the choice of tracks or the way in which he executed his set. Smooth mixing, apart from the carelessness of others and the DJ booth door that slammed and jogged the decks. Dom was confident enough not to stare at the mixer and decks, like so many new dj's do, and was well animated to cause some frenzy on the floor. Nice one fella :-)

DJP guested for Stim on this occasion and as ever was a thrill. He had not played HH for about four years and was a little nervous before going on. As he has witnessed the Thanet crowd are a fickle and sometimes an irritating crowd. They either love you or loathe you. Well last night Dave I think you went down well mate. When Ian said to dave Hard House Dave certainly took that onboard and gave bloody Hard House ..... I do believe even Tina Martin remarked that it was BLOODY Hard, the music that is lol. Well it certainly indicates the versatility of this young DJ as there are not that many that can raise a crowd with Soulful House right up to Hard House and trance.

The other regular Stim DJ's played to their irrevocable best as ever. Whether there is only 50 peeps or 250 peeps they always give 100%.

In Qubar from midnight we had Dave Doughty and Tom Keys. Each played an hour set each of the very best in Dirty House and Electro. They came in at short notice as Robbie Styles was tucked up in bed with man flu :-) A little Funky house from 9 to 12 and dirt after. The boys played well and gave us a preview of some of their new tracks, which I have to say was excellent. The vision of the House Clean Is Your House boys is broadening and I feel that 2007 could bring big things to them.

Roll on Nick Sentience and if this is the turnout for a regular Stimulation I reckon the next one with Nick and Extreme Euphoria could be a riot.

Well done again guys blinding night.

Well pleased with you Tom, not patronising you either mate. You played two quality sets and you seemed to enjoy it too. You refrained from going too dark, as you do sometimes. Hank Bannisters uncle(lol), Richard, said there wasnt one track of yours he didn't enjoy. He also said that we were the friendliest bunch around and loves the club. Hopefully as you said he will tell lots of others and they will frequent the other quality nights we have to offer. Anyway was nice to meet Richard and he seems a real Hardcore clubber ..... nice one geez
