3 Rooms of sheer Talent !!
Well the year for Sugar Complex !!! , the name has been changed to protect the innocent, got off to a flying start with Stimulation. Next up was HCIYH. Boys just how much work do you need to do in order to fill a venue in Margate. With a line-up that included DJP and Rich Belsom the place should in all rights been heaving at the seams. Once again the Thanet crowd show their ignorance to proper dance music and go listen to cheese and other obnoxious noises at the likes of Escape. WAKE UP !!!!!!!!! SMELL THE COFFEE !!!!!!!! There is more out there to experience.

Last night was probably the best I have heard HowCleanIsYourHouse. DJP started with a nice minimal but bouncy hour set before dashing off to London. To have DJP warm up for you you know you are on a good thing. After the disappointment of River Bar closing the downstairs bar last week early, and thus negating DJP's set, this was a solid set for the talented young DJ in his first outing with HCIYH for the year.DJP jets off to do gigs in Cape Town in a few weeks time. Very best of luck Dave and bring us back a stick of rock, there is a Margate not too far from Cape Town and I bet it is busier than this one lol.

Tom Keys to follow. Nice Tom !! Tom has thought long and hard about new tunage over the past couple of months in order to try and mould his own style. The sets have shown more poise and more structured as the weeks go by. Some truly banging numbers there Tom ...... Oh and you didn't get to play that extra dirty filthy track that you wanted. After the main event finished Sugar main room was open decks and Tom was gonna play it then but wisely chose not to. Why? those that were left were more funky, dirty house lovers and not full on Electro..... think it was the right call Tom lol ... Even though you know the hardcore few would have loved it I think it's debut playing by you may have killed the floor. Next time though fella, I still want to hear it.

Next up Dave Doughty. Tom didn't want to go on after Dave as it is unprdictable how Dave will play his set and can be a bit of a sod to follow. Anyhow another good solid performance by the HCIYH heavyweight. Good selection of tracks and boy is that new track of yours quality or what. Daves new masterpiece MONSTER is .....well..... exactly that. One of the filthiest basslines you will ever hear. The final tweaks by Toby did make it sound fucked up in places but that added to an already strong cut. As Dave said "when people hear it they will say ..... Whoever put that together is not sane, is well fucked up" lol that will be Toby's influence then lol. Well done Toby the finishing on this track is first class. At one point two females left the main room because the bass was hurting their ears PMSL.

Nice to see the Star incarnet that is Rich Belsom back in da house. Always a pleasure Rich. Sublime set and truly banging. The boys should be eternally grateful for your continued support for the HCIYH brand .... That Hit the road Jack track, which had something to do with AJ as well, was foooookin awesome.

Talking of fucked up dudes lol ....AJ.... Reckon you could be going places young man. I have sometimes found your sets hard to listen to. No-one would question your expertise or technical know-how but I find that sometimes your choice of track is not always appropriate. At one stage you can have a room rocking and in the next breath you play some weird obscure track and tweak with it lots LOL. Last night, however, most enjoyable my friend, you did the brand proud.... oh and thank you for playing that track again it is absolutely my fave at the mo. Nice to hear you start getting the gigs you deserve as well. Warm up for Babyshake !!!!!!!!! Congrats mate you deserve it .... Make it count !!! LEt me know the date and Mandy and I will prob pop up to see you.

Well thats the main room done.

In Qubar was the hughly revered Mr French. Was quite busy in there last night fella. A fine 5 hours played to the usual high standards of Frenchie. A really good mix of Funky, dirty, twisted and Electro to keep everyone happy. If there is ever a DJ you can rely on to keep a crowd happy Frenchie is your man :-)

Front Lounge was Mistress D's birthday. Many happy returns Debs hope you had a nice night. The DJ's did you proud. Hank Bannister opened up for the 9-midnight set. After a return to DJ'ing at Sugar Lounge and bars the other week after a long spell off the circuit I was unmoved by Hank. Even though his début set was solid and technically spot on it left me wanting a little more. It is nice to see a DJ take note and step it up the next time you hear him. Last night was a good one mate. The choice of tunage was significantly dirtier and took the pace up that level I craved the other week. There was some wise purchases of the more commercial Electro tracks that go down well anywhere. Enjoyed it very much and nice to see Vinyl being used by the younger DJ's. Would have liked to hear that set in the main room as I dont think the Front Lounge did it justice.

Last but not least Mr Ian Garner. Mr "Sound of Guilty Heaven 2007" took over from Hank to wear his usual Hard House hat. Hank built his set up nicely so that the transition to HH was not too much of a shock lol .... Some good solid HH classics, again on Vinyl, were layed down over the next 3hours. I didn't catch it all but what I did hear was spot on.

Ian, along with Robbie Styles, can be seen, heard and supported at TURNMILLS on the 10th March in Guilty Heaven's début with Smartie Party. Tickets for this event will be £25 which will include your coach there and back and entrance to the club. Lets make this a début that Guilty Heaven, Sugar and the DJ's can be proud of. Tickets are available from us at Guilty Heaven, PM me or mandy(Totallyinsatiable) or contact the Sugar complex.

Quality night guys.... group hug .... well earned pat on the back .... here's to the next one. Get out there and educate the locals .... you know they would love it if only they could see beyond their blinkers.

I take that as a complement ???

Just want to thank the ussual suspects that came down and those that didnt you should be ashamed.

How fucking hard do you have to work to fill a place ?? i honestly believe we did pretty much everything we could of done to promote that night. End of Jan people skint dont help either.

Big mentions to

DJP - Wicked warm groovy warm up there
Tom - Took over from Dave smooooooooooooothly some wicked tunes
Dave Doughty - Fat twat couldnt mix an omlette :-)
Rich and AJ - Fucking awesome boys loved if once again said may times apreciation to both of you to support the cause.

I really do believe we have the right team in place and its a matter of time before people realise that this is a brand to be part of a brand to be proud of. there are times when i think why should i bother and the reason i do is bacause of the people that came down and supported last night and for the love of the music thats why i do it and will continue to do so.

and im sure Tom feels same way.

Keep ypur eye out for the HowCleanIsYourHouse "1st Birthday" a few things up our sleeves.

And Especially for Mr Dubya

maybe he aint "Cussing" (lol) but sharing his opinion ??
This is an internet message board, people will agree and disagree that happpens throut life. The reason for this site is to promote each others nights and to share thoughts and expiriences which im sure that is what hes doing ?? after all this is an internet message board and vocies opinions of individuals thats what a forum is about freedom of speech and all that.

he does have a point thou when do you get any proper dance music @ Escape and similar venues answer is you dont, to a fan of house music this is pretty lame. I dont go to ESC because i dont like it thats my opinioin. im not going to hide the fact that they play cheese the latest urban rnb and all the other music which im not a fan off. Yes i like music i undersatnd music i dj but that does have to mean that i have to like every style of music.

We do however love a bit of chaz and Dave

In a nut shell what im trying to say is if i dont like somewhere i just dont go there, you should do the same ops at the end of the day opinions are to be shared and if you dont like reading the esc is rubbish blah blah blah the answer is simple DONT READ IT.

Peace, Love and Pukka Pies

i used to go out alot in cardiff when i lived in wales and u always knew it would be busy. i know u cant compare margate to cardiff but there are people going out in thanet in bars/clubs. i'm really starting to wonder if it really is at all possible to re-educate the thanet people.

last night was such a shame i didnt turn up till late as i was seeing some mates. the people who did turn up, well it takes alot to stay out partying when the turn out is so poor but as the tunage was on form its hard to wana go home.

i admire thoses people who are trying so hard to promote there night as it takes alot to keep going when there is a poor turn out.

i hope the opening of DV8 doesnt make it even harder. i dont think what sugar and the nights have to offer is the problem its more to do with the the location and the people who just wont give other places a try.

make it constructive not personal ok.

I dont think anyone should take it personally, we all
have different views. In the original thread i was one
of the first people to "stick up" for escape as a venue
but i also said i didnt like the music. I have never had
any trouble when i have been there, the sound system
is spot on, and all the staff were always nice. I still
dont like the music though! My choice...

I have mates who work/worked there and i would think
they know it's all quality bollox. Different people chewing
cud and none of it has changed the fact that escape
remain's the busiest late night venue in Thanet.

I know from my own well documented RANTS with Mark
dubya that it's just his view, nothing personal.

Same problem with educating people the country over (well the shit little towns anyway!) Im from Dover, thats even worse than Margete! At least you have one venue thats willing to try. Canterburys just as bad!
Main problem is that is not just that you have to educate people about the music you also have to eduacte them that there is more to going out than having a fight and pulling some minger.
HOW NICE WOULD IT BE TO PLAY IN A CLUB WHERE YOU DONT GET ASKED FOR RnB OR BRITNEY!

It is constructive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get with the times cater for all NOT just spotty 18 year olds.is The influence of the likes of Charlie Sezz is evident NOT ALL YOUNGSTERS want to listen the music content of Escape AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO SAY IT, I shout it ops because you just aint listening.

If Escape played house it would educate the younger crowd. They don't go there for the tunes they go there for the cheap drinks ..... work it out .... Sugar following is getting younger more peeps in Planet Thanet are catching on the the sound of Electro House. Escape does not cater for anyone other than Urban, R&B and D&B. Sugar runs nites FOR EVERYONE which is what makes it unique round here.

At least I review a night, weigh up what went wrong and look forward to the next event, that is what promotion is all about !!!!

Point made me thinks.

Many thanks for the back up from probably SOME OF THE MOST TALENTED DJ's in Thanet. As is said above IT IS MY OPINION free speach and all that .... BUT it is an opinion held by many.

Escape? get some new promoters in and cater for all .... nuff said

The influence of the likes of Charlie Sezz is evident

Got to say mark that charlie played a fucking wicked Funky/electro set between 4-5 at the 'bit on the side' Saturday/sunday morning for noel/charlie's NAWTI promo brand. He played it because that's what the crowd were there to listen to. Maybe the crowd that go to ESC. do go there to listen to RnB, Garage, 2 step etc. etc.. Places tend to find their own level. I know that Sugar has now found it's, so we've got to then assume ESC has found it's also. Nothing that is said on thread's like this are really going to change that. Good hard work and persistence WILL pay off.
