3 Rooms of sheer Talent !!
Well the year for Sugar Complex !!! , the name has been changed to protect the innocent, got off to a flying start with Stimulation. Next up was HCIYH. Boys just how much work do you need to do in order to fill a venue in Margate. With a line-up that included DJP and Rich Belsom the place should in all rights been heaving at the seams. Once again the Thanet crowd show their ignorance to proper dance music and go listen to cheese and other obnoxious noises at the likes of Escape. WAKE UP !!!!!!!!! SMELL THE COFFEE !!!!!!!! There is more out there to experience.

Last night was probably the best I have heard HowCleanIsYourHouse. DJP started with a nice minimal but bouncy hour set before dashing off to London. To have DJP warm up for you you know you are on a good thing. After the disappointment of River Bar closing the downstairs bar last week early, and thus negating DJP's set, this was a solid set for the talented young DJ in his first outing with HCIYH for the year.DJP jets off to do gigs in Cape Town in a few weeks time. Very best of luck Dave and bring us back a stick of rock, there is a Margate not too far from Cape Town and I bet it is busier than this one lol.

Tom Keys to follow. Nice Tom !! Tom has thought long and hard about new tunage over the past couple of months in order to try and mould his own style. The sets have shown more poise and more structured as the weeks go by. Some truly banging numbers there Tom ...... Oh and you didn't get to play that extra dirty filthy track that you wanted. After the main event finished Sugar main room was open decks and Tom was gonna play it then but wisely chose not to. Why? those that were left were more funky, dirty house lovers and not full on Electro..... think it was the right call Tom lol ... Even though you know the hardcore few would have loved it I think it's debut playing by you may have killed the floor. Next time though fella, I still want to hear it.

Next up Dave Doughty. Tom didn't want to go on after Dave as it is unprdictable how Dave will play his set and can be a bit of a sod to follow. Anyhow another good solid performance by the HCIYH heavyweight. Good selection of tracks and boy is that new track of yours quality or what. Daves new masterpiece MONSTER is .....well..... exactly that. One of the filthiest basslines you will ever hear. The final tweaks by Toby did make it sound fucked up in places but that added to an already strong cut. As Dave said "when people hear it they will say ..... Whoever put that together is not sane, is well fucked up" lol that will be Toby's influence then lol. Well done Toby the finishing on this track is first class. At one point two females left the main room because the bass was hurting their ears PMSL.

Nice to see the Star incarnet that is Rich Belsom back in da house. Always a pleasure Rich. Sublime set and truly banging. The boys should be eternally grateful for your continued support for the HCIYH brand .... That Hit the road Jack track, which had something to do with AJ as well, was foooookin awesome.

Talking of fucked up dudes lol ....AJ.... Reckon you could be going places young man. I have sometimes found your sets hard to listen to. No-one would question your expertise or technical know-how but I find that sometimes your choice of track is not always appropriate. At one stage you can have a room rocking and in the next breath you play some weird obscure track and tweak with it lots LOL. Last night, however, most enjoyable my friend, you did the brand proud.... oh and thank you for playing that track again it is absolutely my fave at the mo. Nice to hear you start getting the gigs you deserve as well. Warm up for Babyshake !!!!!!!!! Congrats mate you deserve it .... Make it count !!! LEt me know the date and Mandy and I will prob pop up to see you.

Well thats the main room done.

In Qubar was the hughly revered Mr French. Was quite busy in there last night fella. A fine 5 hours played to the usual high standards of Frenchie. A really good mix of Funky, dirty, twisted and Electro to keep everyone happy. If there is ever a DJ you can rely on to keep a crowd happy Frenchie is your man :-)

Front Lounge was Mistress D's birthday. Many happy returns Debs hope you had a nice night. The DJ's did you proud. Hank Bannister opened up for the 9-midnight set. After a return to DJ'ing at Sugar Lounge and bars the other week after a long spell off the circuit I was unmoved by Hank. Even though his début set was solid and technically spot on it left me wanting a little more. It is nice to see a DJ take note and step it up the next time you hear him. Last night was a good one mate. The choice of tunage was significantly dirtier and took the pace up that level I craved the other week. There was some wise purchases of the more commercial Electro tracks that go down well anywhere. Enjoyed it very much and nice to see Vinyl being used by the younger DJ's. Would have liked to hear that set in the main room as I dont think the Front Lounge did it justice.

Last but not least Mr Ian Garner. Mr "Sound of Guilty Heaven 2007" took over from Hank to wear his usual Hard House hat. Hank built his set up nicely so that the transition to HH was not too much of a shock lol .... Some good solid HH classics, again on Vinyl, were layed down over the next 3hours. I didn't catch it all but what I did hear was spot on.

Ian, along with Robbie Styles, can be seen, heard and supported at TURNMILLS on the 10th March in Guilty Heaven's début with Smartie Party. Tickets for this event will be £25 which will include your coach there and back and entrance to the club. Lets make this a début that Guilty Heaven, Sugar and the DJ's can be proud of. Tickets are available from us at Guilty Heaven, PM me or mandy(Totallyinsatiable) or contact the Sugar complex.

Quality night guys.... group hug .... well earned pat on the back .... here's to the next one. Get out there and educate the locals .... you know they would love it if only they could see beyond their blinkers.

FIRST THINGS FIRST, I DONT USUALLY WRITE ON THESE THINGS... BUT,..... I NEEDED TO LET YOU KNOW PAL, THAT IVE DONE MORE FOR THIS AREA IN THE LAST 10 YEARS IN MUSIC TERMS THAN ANY BODY ELSE, SO GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK

I PLAY WHAT WORKS IN CLUBS!... THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING... IF I PLAYED THE MUSIC THAT I COLLECT AND LISTEN TO AT HOME, THE MUSIC I LOVE (DUBSTEP)... THIS WOULD CLEAR THE DANCE FLOOR AROUND THIS AREA BECAUSE ONLY A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE LISTEN TO THAT STYLE OF MUSIC.

AS FOR EDUCATING PEOPLE I WAS TRYING TO DO THAT ABOUT 6 YEARS YARS AGO... AND SORRY TO SAY, IT DONT WORK IN THANET, BECAUSE ITS ONLY GOT A COMMERCIAL CATCHMENT AREA. (IE, DONT GET KISS FM, CHOICE FM, NOT ENOUGH RECORD SHOPS ETC)

SO BEFORE PULLING MY NAME UP AND TALKING SHIT, THINK ABOUT WHAT YA GONNA SAY....

AND BY THE WAY I RUN 2 HOUSE NIGHTS ALREADY, AND I AM MAKING TECH HOUSE WHICH SOME QUITE RESPECTABLE RECORD LABELS ARE INTERESTED IN, AS WELL AS UK GARAGE AND 4X4 WHICH I AM ALREADY SIGNED TO THE BIGGEST UK GARAGE LABEL THERE IS (PROLIFIC RECORDINGS - MJ COLES LABEL AND 6 OTHERS...

SO THE 'LIKES' OF ME MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT.....

TODALOO PAL

P.S - WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR THE AREA???... BYE BYE

As stated previously you are not renound for the House side of things and if you ask most people that is not the genre that they would put you in.

I certainly feel that most DJ's get stifled in Thorleys venues and they quite often get told what to play . At no point did I question you ability as a DJ or your professionalism it is just that many feel that the likes of Escape could quite easily cater for a house crowd and not just the R&B, Urban, D&B that gets played there at the mo. Your name was used as you are one of the most high profile promoters in the venue.

I have said previously that when Noel did the House in the basement it was good. It had a good following and at that point Escape was catering for all.

As Dave has said he has heard your Funky set and according to Dave it's good .... I said fair comment, but still it's not the genre most people would put you in.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR THE AREA???

Not been in the business as long as you and wouldn't try to make out that I have. However both Mandy and I were promoters for Judge Jules, Alex P, Rasslin, DJP, Guilty Heaven and have have Fierce Angel, Mark Doyle, Jules and many others for the coming year. We also promote Local DJ's in and around Thanet and in London and abroad . We have promoted DJ's in Ibiza and have dates already booked this year including Turnmills and other London Clubs.

We are starting to have an impact and we hope to continue that way in the future.

Many thanks. The use of your name was not derogatory just that if there was a House night on I wouldn't expect to see Charlie Sezz top billing :-)
