After a slow start & with people making the most of finally what could be described as nice weather this day/night ended up being quite a STOMPER!!

It did actually didn't it!

Awesome evening had by all me thinks. In True GH and Sugar Style.

The day was a real slow starter but all the DJ's on the day played exceptional sets. Day kicked off with Peter K who put together an admirable opening enjoyed by all. Next up was a guest appearance by Tina Martin. Mandy did say, as did others, that her Tech House set was sublime and I am gutted I missed it .... sure to catch it in Ibiza :-)

Dave Doughty followed and I did manage to catch this rather solid smooth set. Dave I have found can be unpredictable at times, not in a bad way, but you never know what to expect. Mixing was tight as a cats rear end and the choice of electro was faultless. Tom Keys followed and continued with a very tight HCIYH presence. We haven't heard enough of HCIYH locally recently, probably because the locals are such philistines when it comes to music. I hope the evening set at River went well guys, they couldn't have chosen a better outfit to close the Clubclass ownership of the venue. I am sure that River will now be turned into cheese bar or an oap's watering hole.

The afternoon sesh was rounded off by The Soulseekerz. Unfortunately very few enjoyed the set but those that did appreciate Andy and Patrick turning up. I hope you made it to Swansea by midnight lads lol I am sure that this will not be the last of Soulseekerz in Margate.

We were upposed to close between 8-9pm but it was decided to keep the bar open as there were more peeps milling round. The inimitable Robbie Styles did the honours in true Robbie style(s). Robbie continued until 10pm by which time there were a few more there, not enough though, thanks for doing the early shift Robbie it is very much appreciated. Frenchie followed nicely, as ever, by which time the bar was filling out well. I think at this point most of Margate had gone band mad downstairs in Sugar or at the Brittania. There was some fantastic new mixes in there Mr F, I paticularly enjoyed that mix of Iio's Rapture.... I did notice you dropped that twice before the bar closed at 3am :-)

Mr Ian, fuck me first mix up, Garner came on and didn't lol Excellent set G really excellent considering how much amber nectar you had managed to consume through the day. Qubar was by now getting pretty packed and very sweaty. The music was dirty and the crowd were moving. Mr Phil good was last up, as he had to go home and take his penguin suit off before gracing us with his presence. Top notch again young man. Phil kept it dirty, sweaty, grimy and almost unbearable in the heat.

The final part of the night was a mash up by all the dj's and what a way to end. We did this a few weeks back and it proved to be popular then and last night was no exception.

It was nice to see Qubar busy again and all I hope is that we can continue the trend. The sound system was sounding pretty good actually, which startled many.

Many thanks to Adam Dowling aka Dormouse for his attendance on Friday night. I think we prob should have partied in Qubar on Friday too. I enjoyed your set very much, not to everyone's liking but most of us thought it to be good, you should have cranked that 8K system up a bit. We hope to take you with us on a London gig sometime soon, many thanks for agreeing to do so.

Thanks to Mr Biff and Rob young for percussion, I know you guys find it a hard task when so much Electro is being being played but you both did a great job as ever.

Maximum respect and thanks to all DJ's throughout the day for participating, being there on time, playing first class sets and for supporting a very worthy cause ... The Emily Wells fund.

Many thanks to the bar staff Karla and Dan who were rushed off their feet. Thanks to the door staff Marc and Matt for your hard work, it's always more enjoyable for you when the music is so good.

Thanks to others working in the building that night, Phil, Adam, Fraudster, Chez, Joel, Glenn and of course Heather and Eli. Eli continued with Sugar Live even though it was besieged with lots of problems and headaches. Next year we hope to actually do the open air thing at Quex Park. The aim is to give you and many thousands some of the top acts in the UK.

Final thanks goes to my Mandy who managed the Dance part of Sugar Live for most of the Day. I missed much of it due to working elsewhere but she did do a fantastic job. Think she danced most of the day as the music was so good, her poor feet were killing her by the end of the night. Without Mandy being there things wouldn't have gone so smooth. xx

well i think u need to keep things in the Q bar as opening sugar just makes it look empty. plus the passing people are then aware that something is goin on. although there was something goin on downstairs the people who like it funky/dirty/electro were cramed into the Qbar and it was good to see.

well done all involved although i didnt get to see much during the day i popped in quickly as i wanted to see the lovely tina martin, but the nice weather beckoned outside so thats y i left so soon after arriving. then i didnt get back till later in the evening but had a wicked night.
