DJ SPOONY CONFIRMS BUDDHA DEBUT International MOBO award winning sensation, DJ Spoony has just confirmed he will be performing a live set at Buddha Blue on Saturday 18th August. Hailed as one of the best DJs in the UK, management at Buddha Blue have booked in Spoony as part of a drive to bring top DJs and entertainment to Milton Keynes’ newest nightspot. Having made his name on his groundbreaking show on Kiss FM and touring the globe as a member of the Dreem Team, Spoony soon came under huge demand to take his unique sound to national radio and secured a regular slot on BBC Radio 1. Spoony has since become one of the UK’s leading DJs and renowned for his residency at the award-winning ‘Twice as Nice’ club night. Now, he has confirmed he will bring his experience, skills and unrivalled talents to Milton Keynes’ Buddha Blue nightclub on the 18th. Resident DJs will be warm up the crowd ready for DJ Spoony’s big entrance. Entrance for the night will be slightly more than usual at £8 but women still enter free before 10.30pm. General manager and resident DJ at Buddha Blue, Robin Lyle aka Crucial Robbie said: “This is just the start of our commitment to bring in big names, top DJs and credible club nights to Milton Keynes. Buddha Blue has the look and feel of a high profile nightclub and will draw in DJs and performance artistes from all over the world. DJ Spoony has already established himself as one of the best DJs on the circuit so this should be a fantastic Saturday night for our customers.” For more information about Buddha Blue and to see details of Summer drinks offers, visit www.buddhablue.co.uk or for guest list email info@buddhablue.co.uk -Ends- About Spoony: In his ten years as a professional DJ Spoony has captivated dance floors and the air-waves all over the world. His broadcasting career started on London Underground (a leading pirate radio station in the mid-nineties), a ground-breaking show on Kiss 100 was to follow as a member of the Dreem Teem with Mikee B and Timmi Magic. The demand was there to take the 'UK Garage' sound national and this came via a stint on Galaxy FM then the big '1', Radio1. He is undoubtedly one of the UK's leading DJs. As official resident DJ at award-winning 'Twice as Nice', Spoony set the standards still prevalent in club-land today. When UK Garage needed a disciple to take it around the UK and beyond it was Spoony's ability to entertain and educate the dance floor that made him that man! As a member of the Dreem Teem Spoony was responsible for making UK garage the International phenomenon it became. As much as he has rubbed shoulders with some of the worlds most famous he is most in his element behind the decks entertaining the masses...and after a decade as a professional DJ there has been some entertaining!! He has been the un-official ambassador of UK Garage taking the music first to Ibiza and Ayai Napa, Miami and New York. Amsterdam was also a favourite as was Cape Town and Italy. The media friendly DJ has also crossed over into the world of television. As well as contesting the current edition of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC!, he has presented Soccer AM on Sky Sports and made appearances on numerous hit TV programmes such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The Weakest Link and Test the Nation. As a dj Spoony mixed the gold selling 'TwiceasNice' Compilation series Summer of Love I, II and III and as a member of Dreem Teem, Spoony turned underground sounds into national chart hits. The chart smash the "Dreem Teem Theme" led to work on multiple re-mixes for artists including Shola Ama, All Saints and Faith Evans. "Buddy X '99'" featuring Neneh Cherry, is their biggest hit to date. In 2004, Spoony was the executive producer on a re-worked "All Together Now" by The Farm the official song for the England Euro 2004 football campaign. His contribution to club-land was recognised in 2001 when he was awarded the prestigious 'MOBO' for 'Best DJ'. This capped a great five years of UK Garage growing from an underground music to being at the forefront of the UK's club scene. Spoony injects a cheeky style into everything he does. be it entertaining an intimate crowd at Mr. Beckham's birthday party or shaking his stuff in front of millions on Strictly Come Dancing. Few DJs can say they have remained at the top of a scene for near on a decade, yet this man can! 'I only wanted to play records and make people dance' he said.mission accomplished I'd say.
