Londoner Ed Solo started his musical life as a producer before releasing drum n bass tracks in the 1990’s that raised him to the top of the dnb scene, seeing him release top selling records and DJing throughout Europe and the UK alongside some of the biggest names in the scene. More recently Ed has become more involved in breakbeat, producing records for last month’s Beatcheck headliner, Krafty Kuts, as well as many other top artists in the genre. This year he also released Random Acts of Kindness ( possibly the best album this year!!!!) with Skool of Thought, a critically acclaimed album which received Radio 1 airplay from DJs including Steve Lamacq and Zane Lowe. Ed will be joined on the night by Beatcheck’s motley crew of residents,Little Jo, Gusher & Muff, Stubacca vs Shift, Three Sixty, Relentless, Anya & Special A and Nicky G, who have all been supporting the night since it started life as the city’s unique purveyor of underground sounds two years ago. They will all be slicing off gristly chunks of filthy breakbeat from the spinning stick of underground dance music until your ears are greased and your heart is full of bassline cholesterol.
