BEATCHECK
BRINGING REAL CLUBBING TO MILTON KEYNES
10PM – 4AM. FRIDAY 14TH APRIL, RODEO BAR

Beatcheck is unhappy.

Beatcheck thinks that MK is no place for the discerning clubber.

Beatcheck thinks that unless you want to listen to commercial disco-pop in venues concerned only with ludicrous drinks promotions and cheese-infested records of the past and present, then Milton Keynes’ clubs don’t have too much to offer.

Beatcheck wants this to change and thinks that it knows how.

Beatcheck has noticed a small crack in the dull concrete of the MK scene – a trickle of life flowing out of this baron desert of culture. This crack is The Rodeo Bar - a new venue that has been slowly introducing big names and national club brands such as Hed Kandi and giving the city the kind of nights it deserves.

In recognition of this, and after months of standing back like sarcastic teenagers at a Slipknot gig, cynically giggling at others trying their best, Beatcheck is launching a club night of its own at the bar.

Beatcheck will be squeezing in that extra piece of real underground clubbing by decking out Rodeo with graf’ design décor, lasers, an extra sound system for body movin’ bass and live animated visuals. The night will launch with a true legend of the dance music scene, Ali B. Ali is a long-term resident of London Superclub, Fabric, former capital FM DJ, Air Records boss man, creator of the massive rhythm factory party and general all-round nice guy.

You may be wondering whether or not the people behind the night are capable of checking the beat of the city. But rest assured, there are some serious beat-appreciators behind the night. Originally set up By MK boys Jason Charles and Dan Selinger in Brighton, Beatcheck has hosted live dance music acts ranging from The Lo Fidelity Allstars to 30 piece samba-breakbeat bands to household breakbeat names such as Evil Nine, Fingerthing, and Rennie Pilgrim. Now in Milton Keynes it has the backing of local DJs, artists and soundsystems and is ready to inject a touch of London to Brighton underground dance music culture into the city.
