Music : Commercial, Retro, Chillout / Leftfield and Rock
This is a daytime event (e.g. starts late morning or early afternoon - see below for times).

The inaugural ‘Last Days of Summer Festival’ will be held on
Bank Holiday Monday August 25th at the idyllic Stowe House country estate, near Silverstone racing circuit, and will include Supergrass, Athlete, The Rascals, Young Knives and Royworld, the US’s Fun Lovin’ Criminals and Black Kids alongside a yet to be publicised, guest solo set by one of British music’s most recognisable and influential voices from the last decade, organisers have announced.
Oxford rockers
Supergrass will headline The Last Days of Summer and be supported by Athlete and
Fun Lovin’ Criminals. The event will also include a performance from
Black Kids, who Rolling Stone Magazine named 2008’s one to watch, geek rockers
Young Knives, emerging band
The Rascals being billed as the new
Arctic Monkeys, and
Royworld. Other acts and DJ’s are to be announced in the coming days.
Ciaran Kennedy, spokesperson for event producers Toast Events, confirmed: “The Last Days of Summer is amongst the festival calendar’s newest dates and brings together, on one stage for one day, a brilliant, international line-up to one of the most beautiful parts of the country.” He continued: “The Last Days of Summer is the first time Stowe House has agreed to stage this type of event and as a result we’ve worked hard to deliver a line-up you’d normally only see at the really big festivals.”
Fellow event organiser Paul Reaney of Toast added: “We think The Last Days of Summer will become one of the season’s must-attended music events. The special guest appearance will stagger those who come along, marking the only solo UK appearance by a yet-to-be-announced Britpop Legend this year. Elsewhere, The Last Days of Summer Festival unites Supergrass, Athlete and FLC with, in Black Kids, Young Knives, The Rascals and Royworld, some of the most exciting new music coming out of both sides of the Atlantic.”
