Mode was born on April 18th 2007, the concept evolved from Funkd Up DJ’s Adam James, Jamie Quinn and Dan Scolsa who wanted to bring their passion for house music to a deprived underground house music scene in Newbury.

After a successful year running FunkD uP a meeting was called and we all came to a decision that it was time for a full re-brand due to an ever changing music industry. The name was decided for a few reasons. The main meaning of Mode is to experience and embrace something and it also means fashion which would give us room to grow with in the industry "with the fashion so to speak"

Funkd Up had established itself on the forefront of Newbury’s underground music scene and has grown from strength to strength. Playing the finest selection of minimal and tech house, it pushed the boundaries of house music and introduced a different sound to its current home of Bar Cuba in Newbury.

Looking to continue the success of Funkd Up but with a new focus and direction Mode was born. Mode brings the same up front minimal, tech house sound that made Funkd Up so successful but with a new fresh look. Here and now, Mode has set its sights high and looks to take its sound across the UK, with a committed team behind it you can be assured of a great night.
