Bar Cuba is evolving...

This article is about Cuba in Newbury (UK)

Yes, that's right, the rumours are true. The Bar Cuba of old is no more and, as of Sunday 2nd November, it will be closing it's well-travelled doors forever. But fear not, because this is not the end...

For, on Friday 14th November, Newbury will witness the birth of a brand new CUBA as part of a massive refurbishment project that will see a renewed focus on late-night clubbing, a fantastic range of cutting-edge new music week-in & week-out, industry-leading sound and lighting equipment and a whole host of world-renowned special guest DJs appearing in the coming months!

In short - CUBA is about to rewrite the rulebook on what clubbers in Newbury can expect from a night out!

MULTI-ROOM, MULTI-GENRE MADNESS!
==============================

As part of the refurbishment, CUBA will be split into two separate rooms, each featuring brand new DJ booths with new lighting and hugely improved sound & unique decor.

Here at CUBA, we love mashing up different styles to keep things interesting and keep the party bouncing (it's our second favourite thing to do, after...umm....dancing). Now, with our new Second Room, we're able to bring in different genres of music to compliment the madness going on in Room One, ensuring you always get a wide variety of tuneage that's guaranteed to make the most stationary of assess have a bit of a wiggle!

CUTTING-EDGE NEW MUSIC, WEEK-IN AND WEEK-OUT!
=============================================

We've always felt Newbury was stuck in a bit of a rut. Clubbers wanted to go out and dance like loonies to the latest tunes, but were always a bit restricted in where to go (paying £12 to listen to chart CDs isn't really that fun is it?)...

To help shake out the cobwebs from Newbury's nightlife, we've employed a shiny new Events Manager who's job it is to keep exciting, fresh new music flowing into CUBA every week! From Hip-Hop to House, RnB to Drum & Bass, Breakbeat to Cheesy Classics and much more, CUBA has got you covered in the music department!

AWARD-WINNING SPECIAL GUESTS
============================

Which brings us on to our headliners (the exciting bit!). As part of our new music policy, CUBA will be drafting in a whole host of world-renowned DJs to play headline sets each and every week, and at a cost that kicks the frilly panties off virtually every other venue in the area!

Artists already booked for the first month include:
The multi award-winning DJ EZ (Z Uncut, Kiss100 FM)
Studio B (the artist behind the huge Top40 hit 'I See Girls')
Mista Jam (BBC Radio 1 , BBC 1Xtra)
Ollywood (Hardcore Beats)
Matt Carter (Fabric)
Warlock (Rag and Bone Records)

More will be announced VERY soon so keep your eyes peeled to both our Facebook group and our soon-to-be-released new website (www.cubanewbury.com) to get the low-down on what's coming up!

FINAL WEEKEND
=============

Feel free to pop in and say goodbye to the old venue with our last weekend blow out over the Halloween weekend where we will be running all sorts of drinks promos from Thursday till Sunday to help empty the bar in time for the refurbishment on Monday

Thursday - Commercial House
Friday - Halloween Fancy Dress Party (Multi-Genre Mashup)
Saturday - Carnage (Sexy Funky House)
Sunday - 36th Chamber (Drum & Bass)

COMING 14TH NOVEMBER 2008
=========================

So that's about it for now, more will be revealed in the coming weeks so all that's left to say is thanks for reading this (quite long) email and that we hope to see you down Saddlers Court on the 14th November for our huge opening party (featuring a range of awesome DJs playing everything from House to Drum & Bass and everything in between)!

I agree. A great idea in principle. Does anyone know if it will always be the case that nights will be offered first to anyone but House Promoters?

I dont think they're avoiding house promoters necessarily, maybe more just trying to readjust the balance as there were a LOT of house nights back in the Cuba of old...

To be honest, I reckon they'd go with anything as long as it could guarantee a good crowd! ;-)

I hope you are right. Let's hope there's no musical snobbery. I'm sure no one would want that.

I'm gonna be a generic Dan as ever, but I'm still waiting for some more psytrance at Cuba. Is Pri/Son-of-Shiva still around??
