After a £900,000 refurb, including huge projectors & flat screen monitors, 5 tills, 25 bar staff, full lighting rig and a £75,000 soundsystem later, former Bartholomew Streets' B-Wise has transformed into chain bar Varsity. The bar also has a large smoking area out the front to cater for all those of you stuck to the dirty habit! Varsity are a small group of bars popular with students, serving a variety of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails as well as a selection of English dishes. The decor is modern yet relaxing with several large tables to sit around and eat or drink. But with what is ranked as Newburys' best soundsystem, this place can rock a serious atmosphere!!
