Hi Amber How Are You?
Very good thanks!
2006 has been such an amazing year for you what have been highlights?
There have been so many – I have been so lucky to have been involved in so many really cool things last year, including Tidy vs Extreme @ Es Paradis in Ibiza, which I am resident at this year also… Also last year saw the release of my Amber D EP on Tidy, which was the best selling release on Tidy for 2006, which I am very proud of! Also playing at Creamfields for the 4th year in a row and Global Gathering for the 3rd, I am very thankful for as I love doing the festivals.
Whats your plans for 2007?
2007 is seeing more of the same from myself in the Hard Dance scene, as well as a few more Hard Dance releases. I am in the studio with Maddox, Digital Kid and Public Domain over the coming few months so I am excited to see what the outcome is from these….
You are best known for playing Hard Dance, but have been making good progresss with your house gigs recently. What kind of stuff do you play when you are doing things on the house/electro tip?
Yeah, I have started up a new guise, Amber D’amour, alongside my new Electrik House label, D’amour recordings (coming soon – website just being developed). I have been in the studio with Maddox and Kelevra (Digital Kid) and working on lots of ideas on my own so look out for the first releases soon. I will be showcasing my D’amour Record Label at the “Lee Haslam and Friends” event on Sunday April 1st @ The Priory in Doncaster. I am hosting the backroom at this event.
The last couple of years have seen quite a lot of hot new Hard Dance clubs come into existence...which have really impressed you?
I like the fact that new clubs are coming into the scene, as its important to keep things fresh.. New sounds, new club nights and events all keep the scene moving forward, as it should. Nights that Ive enjoyed playing at are the likes of: Nu Religion, Tall Trees, Tranzaction, Digital, and I cant wait to play at Detox which is coming soon!
What has been your worst clubbing experience/DJing moment over the years?
Havent really had anything that bad happen to be honest, but Im sure something will one day lol. Possibly when CD’s start to jump but thankfully due to my weird compulsive disorder to clean every CD to within an inch of its life before sticking it in the CDJ, this rarely happens….
Thanks Amber.
You can catch Amber at the launch party of Code Red @ Venom on the 23rd Febuary.
