Contagious clubwear is one of the best known names on the dance scene, not only for there amazing clubwear but for there amazing team of dancers as well. Dancing at some of the biggest events in the UK and having there own stage at global gathering '06, contagious are growing from strength to strength and taking the scene by storm!

Today im here with Claire-Contagious to find out a little about the past present and future of contagious and chat a little about the dancers that will be at this weeks Code Red at Venom Nightclub, Newbury.

Hi Claire, hope your well. Thanks for taking time out to answer a few questions.

Hi Chris, im very well thanks. Im looking forward to answering your questions

So when was contagious started and how did it get so big so quickly?

Contagious was born in 2003 after I designed a range of clubwear, had a website built to sell it on (www.contagiousclubwear.com), and found a manufacturer in China to produce it in bulk. Twelve months later….. Manufacturer number two (this time UK based) came on board. Contagious was being sold worldwide and was available to buy in outlets round the UK.

So after a while on the back of your clubwear you started to become involved in events and started running your own stages, how did this all come about?

In 2004 a local based modified car festival, Weston Wheels, invited Contagious to host a dance tent at their festival. This proved to be a huge success, and the following year we were asked back to run one of the main dance tents. By this time we had our own team of models, entertainers and dancers who all took part in our first ever Contagious show.

Then at the beginning of 2006 Contagious became involved with Angel Music Group, helping them promote Escape to the Park and providing the Kicker hummer truck and dancers for the Swansea based festival, on the back of this we secured an outdoor sound stage at the almighty Global Gathering Dance weekender.

This was the chance to show what Contagious could really do, and boy did we rock it!

Im afraid i didn't go to Global Gathering but i hear the contagious stage really did rock it, How did you manage to succeed where so many have failed?

We designed the stage ourselves to fit in with our show, put on some of the most talented and up and coming hard dance DJ’s on the circuit, including Lisa Pin Up, Andy Whitby, Alex Kidd and Jp and Juksey. Our team of 20 strong entertainers danced and performed non stop throughout the event providing some well received eye candy and visual stimulation for the up for it crowd we drew around us most of the weekend.

The buzzing atmosphere was electric, I never had such a feeling in my life, the whole team worked their butts off the whole weekend making Contagious one of the biggest success stories of Global 06, and we will be back bigger, better and louder than ever in 2007 with outdoor stages at both Escape to the Park and Global Gathering.

WOW, sounds great! Where else can we look out for your team?

Well on the back of this success we have taken our production into clubs, hosting our very own night at the Syndicate in Bristol as well as being involved with some of the biggest names in clubland such as Tasty, Storm and Sundisential. We are also very excited to announce our involvement with an exciting new club night at Venom in Newbury, Code Red, from the people behind Nu-Religion, where we will be hosting the main room adding our unique style of entertainment and décor to the already sell out event. This is one not to be missed, as we plan to bring some of the Hype weve been creating across clubland to one of the new up and coming Club nights.

In your own words.. give me a brief summary of your team of dancers...

These girls have really been causing a stir, with their polished dance routines and sexy Contagious getup. The current team were setup last year after a series of Dance Auditions were held up and down the country to find the very best club dancers to form an elite team to represent Contagious at nights and events. The team are ran by Hayley O’Connor, who is already an established and renowned club dancers herself, and she is really the whole key to the professionalism of the team, before big events Contagious normally hire a dance hall to rehearse the teams rigorous routines and Hayley puts the girls through their paces making sure that the routines are perfect for the big night, on top of this the girls normally arrive at a venue several hours early to practice on the actual stage area to make sure they are all completely familiar with the area they will dance in.

The girls are all totally dedicated to and are fiercely proud to be part of the Contagious Dance Crew and this really shows in their dance routines which always get critical acclaim from anyone who witnesses it. The Contagious dance crew will be starring at Code Red on Friday 23rd Feb, come and check them out.

So Hayley, what is your roll in contagious?

I am very proud to say that I am the manager of the Contagious Dance Crew.

Excellent, So how did you get your team together?

My girls where hand picked by myself and Claire in April 2006, nearly a year on I can honestly say that they are the best Dance Troop in the UK.

So what are your influences for the girls?

I wanted to bring the Ibiza buzz to the UK Clubland scene, by mixing all the best entertainment together as one show. My team work very hard for every event they do and never fail to amaze the crowd. The Contagious Dance Crew have been involved with some fantastic events such as Frantic, Sunnies, Global Gathering, Storm, Tasty, they have even been in TV Adverts for Nukleuz UMM records and of course our very own brand Contagious.
