Excellent. Would have been worth the money just to have seen Lisa but all were fantastic.
Well I ordered tickets to this event a while ago and I have to admit I'm glad I did. This is the first time that I have been to Venom but it was well worth the 200 mile round trip for me.

For those that have never been to Venom, the club is set within a leisure complex on the outskirts of town, surrounded what appears to be a small nature reserve. Parking is excellent and free and the area was pretty clean.

The club itself is done up to look like the sides of a snake (hence the name) and the lighting fixtures are made to look like snake eyes which is a nice effect. The club was cleanish but I reckon it wont be too long before it needs refurbishment. The mens room was quite grubby and to be one of the first people in the club last night I didnt expect the ashtrays to be half full in the toilets. Some soap in the dispenser would have been nice. Prices at the bar were pretty reasonable and the staff were quick at serving. I never had to wait more than about two minutes to get a drink which were all pretty cold which is a nice change. The temperature at the club was just right.

Now the important bit... The music.

To be honest with you the only reason I went to this event was to see Lisa Pin-Up, however the other DJ's that were playing were excellent. They had the place jumping in no time and got the night off to a strong start. The VJ was also excellent and the lasers looked fantastic in the dry ice.

One of the best parts for me in the evening was the ability to be able to chat to Lisa and have a photo taken with her. I had mentioned that I had seen her at Heaven on the 27th and had a really good night. Lisa seemed genuinely pleased at this and I also mentioned that I loved it when she played Voodoo People at Heaven. Her reply was 'I'll play it just for you later'.

Having requested tracks from DJ's in the past I didn't really hold my breath and was't expecting anything, but true to her word Lisa played it in her set. I was at the bar getting a drink when I heard the start of the Voodoo People riff and rushed to the dance floor. As I did so I could see Lisa mouth 'Where is he?' as she was looking out to the crowd. She then shone her torch and found me and gave me a massive smile.

This is what I think sets Lisa apart from many of the other entertainers in the industry. Lisa seems to be genuinely interested in her fans and she responds well to them. Anyone who has seen her live or was there last night will know what I am saying. The woman just gives out such a good vibe, knows how to work the crowd and oozes confidence and charisma, and to top it off she looks stunning. Lisa also took the time during her set to pose for photo's and sign autographs.

Lisa seems to love DJ'ing and it shows. At the end of the night it looked like she lost track of time and didn't realize that it was about 3:15. She probably would have carried on playing until they dragged her away from the turntables as it looked like she was enjoying herself so much.

All in all an excellent night was had by all. Its just a shame that more people didn't turn up tonight. A bigger crowd would have been better but then thats life.

To everyone that was there especially Lisa thanks for a great night and GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

Oh dont get me wrong you were all fantastic last night from the beginning to the end and I really enjoyed the entire night (And i was stone cold sober!!!). I would have made that journey last night just to have seen Lisa. I'm gonna change the subject title if I can cos after reading it, it sounds like it was only worth going to see Lisa Pin-up and thats not what I was trying to convey. You were all amazing.

That'll teach me to write a review as soon as I got home. :O)
