- DETOX - OFFICAL STATEMENT -
It may not make a difference but I'll try to clear a few things up :)

We had originally planned to run 5 areans. The two tents that did not go ahead were going to be hosted by Binni & the other by Sarah from Sketchy Munters. As far as I knew she had been awol for over two weeks, no contact with anyone since apparently moving to brighton and being at glastonbury over the previous weekend ? She had made all the arrangements for running that particular arena, booking acts and should have been responsible for informing the various DJ's and acts that the tent was not going ahead.

Four marquees were ordered but only 3 were built due to the marquee company double booking our order. They had tried to help out by delivering a shoddy little 'self assembly' gazeebo which was standing between the old skool and Elements tent on saturday - I'd started building this but gave up when I seen how flimsy this was. Due to weather problems and Elements arriving on site early they were given first refusal on the smaller tent to stop equipment getting wet from the heavy downpour.

There's no point explaining all the texts and phone calls that went around on Saturday suffice to say the Sketchy munters tent didn't go ahead and the fourth tent was just a simple no-go based on what had been delivered. There was no way the error sound system would have been allowed to run based on health and safety under that little gazeebo. This was fully explained to Binni during a phone call I had on Saturday. Basically the original plan was that some of the techno crew would come across on Friday to have a look at the setup they were going to be using but due to other business comittments and missed flights this was not possible. We endeavoured to fit some of the techno acts into the main arena offering Binni, Scott, Kai & Chris sets in the main room of which two took the chance. This was made possible by shortening some of the live acts and later DJ set times.

I'm sure everyone will agree the weather did not help at all on Saturday - I was on site most of Friday where it was almost 23c all day and glorious sunshine, shame about Saturday. I pretty much missed the entire 12 hours on Saturay and only caught K90's live set at the end. The rest of the day was spent manning the gate, running around sorting logistical technical problems whilst also ferrying DJ's back and forth from hotels. In all I covered over 300 miles in car journeys. Also a massive big thank you to James Wilson for all his hard work.

I don't think anyone quite realises how much work goes into an outdoor event. The buses should have never got stuck as they WERE ALL TOLD to stay on the tarmac at the end of the event. I had been controlling the bus arrivals earlier in the day between 2pm and 5pm making sure they all arrived and left site safely. It was purely the fault of the stupid bus drivers coming too far into the field and beyond our control that they got stuck. Again I was trying my best to get this resovled at the end of the night so big thank you to everyone who helped resolve this at 2am.

I don't know what words were exchanged between people on saturday night suffice to say myself and many others were stressed out with all the logistics. I would like to add that it is completely out of order for any DJ on the bill to physically threaten the promoter with violence when asked to shorten their set by 5 minutes. This was all due two power cuts and also DJ's + live acts over running or arriving late. Any other information or rumours doing the rounds should be dispelled at once since this only damages reputations of an event or any of the DJ's involved. As far as myself and Melt are aware *! NOBODY !* has been removed from any future lineups. Gossip and rumour mongering are best kept off the nucastle or DSI boards.

Peace everyone :) Static

And pushing the coach in the early hours was, well a laugh :-D MWUAHHAHHAHAHA
Static the day was a fooking belta, and we'll def be back

Had an absolutly fab time, went in white n pink just for the hell of getting dirty lol. Apart from technical probs, it was fantastic, didnt really mind the bus getting stuck, although we did tell the driver he was an idiot for bringing it onto the field!!
Should do out door events more often, every one had a great time, and as usual, were just totally well behaved.
Thanks to everyone behinf the scenes, and fellow clubbers rfor making this one a nyt to remember.
C u's all soon x

Top night, however I was a bit disappointed with the shoddy table the decks were on in the main room, you knew Rodi Style wanted to climb up :(

saying that, come wind, or rain, detox remains a top event, roll on september :D

I think if people honestly witnessed the tirade of verbal abuse, swearing and potential physical violence I was faced with at asking someone to maybe shorten their set by 5 mins then peope, would understand why I told those people to get out of my face in not so many words.

if everyone overan their sets by5-10minutes after 2-3 power cuts then paul glazby and lucy fur would have ended up with about 30mins

its a shame people dont realise that is all that was trying to be avoided

I thought the event was a belter regardless.

I understand that power cuts and interruptions can be a total nightmare and stress, I was on the recieving end of one myself and I wasnt happy! But if this DJ cant cope with such stresses and hickups to resort to violence and threats then he/she is in the wrong game in my opinion and if that happened @ one of our events, I sure know what Id do!

Thanks for a top weekend everyone involved and on behalf of Elements, Thanks for having us!

Dave I've told you to quit posting anything about this till its sorted properly. Its never been about the set time. I've had all my sets cut short in the past so why kick off with you over it this time. Like I said I will meet you, voice my concerns and we'll take it from there. Till then all this is pointless because you have your idea of what happend and I have a totaly different one.

I think you are all a bunch of women n should have a bitch-bag fight in the mud!!!
Jo I totally Agree, melt sent me a text going on about posting stuff on a public message board and all I can see at the moment id he wont drop it till its sorted out!

Dave, Jst leave it untill we sort it out and agree on what to do do next. I'd rather that then this blow up even more!

OH. And P.S. I told your kidd I knew nothing about who are how many people had a go at you. It had nothing to do with me, I never told anybody to greif you, so quit trying to make it sound like that was my fault aswell. If they felt the urge to do what they done then it was nothing to do with me and that was something they done of there own.

I wont me kept being made to be a scape goat and the bad guy out of all this. Just wait untill its sorted out before you start stating things (which may or may not have been said or happened). You said on the nucastle board you respect me so if you want to have any chance of a decent enough outcome for the both of us leave all the blaming and crap out till its sorted once and for all.

Thanks

ok , lets just sort this out directly

I am hearing you

no one is making you out to be a scapegoat

it is a culmination of a number of factors most of which were out of both our hands

we have both been around long enough to sort this out amicably without it getting radgetastic

thanks

check pm's nucastle
