Music : All Music

Following the hedonistic debauchery of the 8th birthday bash, DETOX return this Autumn with undoubtedly one of their strongest lineups to date. Taking place on Saturday 26th September at a secret stately location over 8 hours and with over 25 dj’s / acts spread across 3 rooms. It goes a little something like this…

ROOM 1: Energy, Trance and Hard Dance

LAB 4 “LIVE”

Lab 4 were without a doubt one of the original pioneers of what is now known universally as hard dance, having played their first gigs way back in 1994 at the legendary CLUB UK in London for UNIVERSE alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier and Josh Wink. Mixing all styles of dance and electronic music together brought a punk element to a commercial scene that’s often been initiated but never equaled.
LAB 4 went on to win a plethora of accolades and awards for “BEST LIVE ACT” around the world as well as many coveted high positions in numerous “Best DJ” polls. LAB 4 had over 60 releases in total including 4 double albums, plus 6 other compilations of previously unreleased material and live sets. To this day they were the 1st and only hard dance act to be asked to perform a live set for John Peel on his live radio show, with their track Candy man being mentioned in one of his “festive 50” charts. Playing their final gig on New Years Eve at Storm in Leicester at the end of 2006 this year sees LAB 4 back together for a series of one off gigs at the biggest & most unique events in the UK and rest of the world.

ORGAN DONORS: DEX&FX “LIVE”

The Organ Donors, brothers Matt and Scott Harris, have over the last decade unquestionably established themselves as one of the leading forces in hard dance music. Their pioneering DEX&FX stage shows have lead them to become one of the most sought after big room acts in the business, gaining residencies from the worlds biggest events, such as Dance Valley, Frantic, Slinky, Godskitchen and GoodGreef plus international sell out tours of Australia, South Africa, America, Canada, Europe, China, Japan and Malaysia. Following their appearances at DETOX Garden of Eden in 2006, Detox 6TH Birthday in 2007 and their amazing Old Skool Autopsy live set at DETOX in 2008, we welcome back an act that has to be seen to be believed.

MARK EG

Marks background goes back to the early 1980s through detroit techno, Chicago House, electro, acid house, hard trance and hard techno. Throughout the years he’s become widely acclaimed for his intense stage presence, as well as his outrageous antics behind the decks, spanning several different musical scenes and movements. His most notable achievements have included his massive popularity within the Serbian/ Bosnian/Croatian techno scene, his strong following within the uk hard trance and hard style movements, the Canadian rave scene and his infiltration of the Uk hard dance scene and his mythical / cult like status in the UK Hardcore scene, regularly playing at events such as Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, Hardcore Heaven and Slammin vinyl.
The last few years have seen Mark play at some of the biggest outdoor events on the world stage such as Dance Valley, Impulz and Q-Dance and he has been voted best hard dance dj at the Hardcore heaven wards in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007. It’s also well documented that he was instrumental in the A+R for 90’s giant Bonzai records and edited music magazines Wax and Eternity. This is one man who simply lives, eats, sleeps and breathes music

JON ‘O’ BIR

Jon O’Bir’s life changed back in September 2002 when he won a DJ competition for Passion and M8 magazine, beating 300 other aspiring DJ’s! UK Super brand Godskitchen offered the talented trance dj a residency soon after and the prospect of a fledging career as Britain's next DJ sensation. Six years and thousands of air miles later, Jon has become one of the most highly regarded trance Dj’s on the planet! His sets are forward thinking, cutting edged, trance blessed journeys that have captivated crowds across the globe amazingly all of this by the age of 24! Jon has spent the last 18 months working purely on his own productions, and none other than the legendary Paul van Dyk has signed Jon’s first artiste album ‘From Within’ to his huge record label Vandit. The album saw a worldwide release in July 2008 and is being followed by a world tour that has already visited events such as Love Parade in Germany, Illusions Festival in Belgium, Cream Amnesia in Ibiza, Energy 2008 in Switzerland, Madwave in Finland, Digital Society in Leeds, Godskitchen Tour in Australia, Circus in Los Angeles, Vandit in Amsterdam.
Having played for Detox in 2006, 2007 and 2008 Jon makes a welcome return to all things toxic in Autumn 2009.

RODI STYLE

Following his North East debut with DETOX at the outdoor IN:dependence event in the summer of 2008, Rodi recently delivered, not one but two, jaw dropping sets at the DETOX 8th Birthday event.
With flawless technical mixing and superb scratching ability (often mixing with even his feet whilst stood on top of the decks) this is one dj that you have to see live in action rather than listening at home to fully appreciate what all the excitement is about. It’s hardly surprising that Rodi deservedly won best newcomer at the 2008 hard dance wards and it’s an absolute pleasure to welcome back the Canadian scratch wizard.

ED REAL

Ed Real brings an unparalleled level of knowledge, performance and expertise to the decks of your party! DJing for 11 years and A&R for the UK's biggest-selling 12" label for the last 5 and a half, it's safe to say that his record bag contains all the bombs needed to destroy any dancefloor. One of the original Nukleuz DJ team, Ed has played at events large and small all over the globe. From NYE mega-raves in Cape Town, Sydney and Melbourne to afterparties in Tokyo via his own very successful Riot! club in London's famous venue The End, Ed Real brings the show down at any party. Having played for Detox at the infamous “What kind of house party is this?” event in 2007 ( described by Ed as like ‘Byker Grove on Acid’ ) and more recently at In: Dependence in Summer 2008, Ed makes a welcome return to Detox!
