DETOX WANTS TO APOLOGISE THAT THE EVENT ON THE 26TH OF SEPTEMBER CAN NOT TAKE PLACE DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND CANNOT BE SORTED BY SAT. ANY ONE WHO HAS BOUGHT A TICKET IT WILL STILL BE VALID FOR THE RESCHEDUALED DATE... WHICH WILL FOLLOW ....TICKETS ARE REFUNDABLE !!!!!

I wish people trying to pre-empt the press release would use a spell checker or dictionary before they post on behalf of detox:

DETOX is very sorry to announce due to circumstances way beyond their control that this Saturday’s Alchemy event is being postponed and moved to a later date.

Without going into a full blown synopsis of the reason behind this decision which we stress has not been taken lightly and without a great deal of consideration we would like to shed a little light on the situation. Earlier this week we were asked by the local authorities to implement a number of significant changes to safeguard the health and safety of higher than expected numbers of people attending the event. As we understand it this request was made primarily due to an unprecedented surge in ticket sales which the local authorities felt would culminate in a huge number of people trying to gain access to the event without tickets, a situation that in their opinion would not be sustainable due to the capacity limit and advance “ticket only” nature of the event. Needless to say, we have explored every avenue open to us given these recent requests in order to try and satisfy these requests and make the event still happen this Saturday. However, given the extremely short time period of 2days which we have been given to carry out certain structural changes and health and safety procedures in relation to the unique venue, it is clearly not viable for the event to proceed this Saturday.

However:

RE-TOX – ALCHEMY (the return) is now planned to take place late November/early December: with the same advertised line up.

All event tickets (including coach option) that have been purchased from private sources will be valid for the new date.

Any individual who is requiring a refund in the interim should return the ticket to the place of purchase and they will be fully refunded (less shop booking fee)

We apologise unreservedly for the response to this event resulting in it ultimately becoming a victim of its own success.

melt im away 21st Nov in madchester rave as is beast to on that date - 12th Dec dj'n at secret warehouse in Newcastle ( this is not a party for you to worry about as totaly different music , more like elevator music i think but will do both if needed as confirmed gig a month ago)
