Music : House, Hard Dance and Minimal Techno

We are extremely proud to introuduce FERGIE as our headline act in May. In honour of the occasion all collision residents will play the main room and for the first time we unveil COLLISION XTREME in the basement room. Collision Xtreme will cater for the harder edged sound thus enabling us to invite someone we have admired for some time, Escapes own Rob Davies. If this wasnt enough our own exclusive super resident Jordan Suckley will not only take his place in the main room with his fellow residents but will also play a special one off hard set in the Xtreme room. We are pleased to welcome back both Shaun Luxton & John Edwards, long standing residents who took time out. We are also pleased to be joined by Cotton Club's favourite Lanie and Submissions own K-Sketch. Special mention goes to Franko & Krajo who always impress us greatly.

Fergie Unwrapped!

Fergie seems to have been around for while now, yet at 28, we forget that he was just a lad when he began the amazing journey that he is still riding high and now, years on, has never had a stronger and more vibrant aural identity. 2008 couldn’t be busier for Fergie.

Regularly playing at clubs such as Firefly, Shine and The Stiff Kitten, he maintains an international pedigree which has seen him play at Sonar (Barcelona), Metropolis (Bulgaria), Meganite(Ibiza), Magazinni Generalli (Italy), the Berlin Love Parade and, of course, almost a decade of parties in Ibiza. Add to that gigs which have taken in Hong Kong, Australia, Israel, Poland and America where he even performed a 7 day tour of the Curran-Holding Prison Correctional Facility (CFCF) in Philadelphia - which wasn’t listed on the tour schedule! The producer of stunningly good techno that has seen the likes of Slam, Laurent Garnier, Phil Kieran and Dubfire smash floors all over the world with his tunes is also the man whose Excentric project is making a real impact in clubs on three different levels; pushing new talent, putting on events and releasing exciting music.

Fergie is firing on all cylinders at the moment with his recently released THE ME EP on Excentric Muzik climbing high in the techno charts on Beatport. It’s gaining huge support from some of the industry’s most respected DJs, with across the board appeal to many techno exponents. Add to this a collaboration with Gregor Tresher that spawned ‘Recluse’ recently released on the on the Great Carnival Stuff album. A further Great Stuff Olympic album, due to be released later this year, will feature a track from each country with Fergie representing Ireland. Re-mixes due out include Bigger than Jesus ‘Itchy Glitchy Spider’ (Fergie rmx) on Silver Planet and King Unique ‘Hinode’ (Fergie rmx) due out on their Curfew imprint.

His exclusive Excentric nights have been ripping up dance floors across the UK at venues that include Ice Factory bi monthly (Perth), The Custard Factory (B/Ham) and The THELKA (Bristol) - not to mention many weeks in Ibiza and have featured guests such as Slam, Phil Kieran, Gregor Tresher, Anderson Noise,Tom Pooks, Silicone Soul, Funk D Void and Pyscatron, as well as some exciting, fresh new talent from his own Excentric Artist Agency including Bigger than Jesus, Henry Von, Jus Phil, Dan Doran, JordanX and Ken the Men. It all started in Larne in Northern Ireland where Robert Ferguson, as his passport dubs him, grew up. His first day of secondary school would see him donning a walkman instead of putting up with his teacher’s voice, and for the next three years he would spend more time outside the headmaster’s office than in the classroom. At the age of 14 he finally left school and embarked on the passion that had engulfed him; embracing music headlong and becoming a DJ. It was to become a mercurial move that would lead to international DJ status with Tony De Vit taking Fergie under his wing and starting him on a journey that eventually led to his own slot on Radio 1, where he championed the sounds of underground on mainstream radio, before minimal became the du jour genre for DJs. At only 21 he found himself presenting live shows from, Skool Beats (Brazil), Love Parade (Berlin), Meganite (Ibiza), the Miami Winter Music Conference and not one to forget where he came from, he brought his very first live Radio 1 show from Larne Football Club in his hometown. The show ran for 5 years and developed into a snapshot of what was going on in the underground electronic music scene. Guests included Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Dave Clarke and Phil Kieran (who both covered the show in Fergie's absence), Carl Cox and Jeff Mills, as well as providing a platform for many aspiring producers and DJs to show what they had to offer... the likes of Kev Gorman ( Gigolo ), Anderson Noise ( Noise Music ) and Matt Tolfrey ( Leftroom ) all received some of their prominent initial exposure through Fergie’s show. Today he is free to play how he wants and is not held back by perceptions and tags from the past and continues to be a global representative for electronic music by consistently breaking down underground barriers and bringing new music to the people - always without compromise. He has never forgotten that it's still just a rave, a place where people are trying to escape the realities of urban life each and every weekend. A proven forward thinker, a trendsetter - Fergie has become a master of evolving his sound to keep one step ahead of the rest.

Constantly developing and never standing still ...... for Fergie this is a way of life. 2008 is set to be a defining year as Fergie continues to champion his sounds and play at some of the best clubs around, conclusively proving, like all good leopards, you can change your spots.

Rob Davies

Many years of hardwork have finally paid of as 2007 saw Rob's appointment to the big time, having being offered residency at Escape, Swansea. Rob was also made promoter of his own event 'Escape Gets Filthy' the biggest and best Hard Dance night in Swansea. Robs boundless energy and hunger to succeed have been the key factors in his rise to the top of the Welsh Hard House Scene.

Bookings including Escape into the Park, Goodgreef, Polysexual, Bionic and many more have enabled Rob to build up an army of followers, and Demo CDs such as 'Bosch' and 'The Other Side' have earnt him fans all over the UK. Rob describes his style as 'Banging Hardhouse' but he is not
afraid to cross genres and incorporates elements of Hard Trance, Hard Techno and even Psy-Trance into his sets, to bring a unique listening experience to the dancefloor.

His influences are Andy Whitby, Rob Tissera, Paul Glazby, Ilogik, and Big Al, although Rob has a unique style of his own. Rob has an undying love for his music and excellent track selection and programing skills which compliment his tight and explosive mixing and scratching abilities. And with the tricks up his sleeve, crowd pleasing antics and crazy bootlegs he is a worthy addition to any line-up. At only 22 years of age, the future could hold big things for him.

He can adapt well to any given situation, be it a chunky warm up set or an all guns blazing, flat out Hard House bosh-a-thon. The next step for Rob is moving into producing, he has forthcoming studio dates with the Audio Hedz, Digital Kid and Dark by Design, keep an ear out for some phatt beats!
