This article is about Blessed @ Level Three in Northampton, Sat 27 Dec 2008
Jimmy I know your manic so thank you for your time, You’re making a return to bless this weekend what do you have in store for us?
Hi guys! Yeah heading down to Blessed again with JP & Jukesy on 27th really looking forward to it as always, Mike and the team sure know how to throw a party! I’ve been in the studio quite a of late so expect quite a few of my latest productions and some proper bitch ass moves behind the decks!!
Last time I saw you at Blessed I think it was your birthday and you were drinking slammers while djing! Will you be trying that again?
Na that was Jukesy! I always remain professional whilst DJing! .... Most of the time anyway!
Haha great stuff. Tell us about your new role at Storm how do you feel your first couple of months have gone?
Yeah it's great to be back working for The Emporium yet again, I absolutely love it! It’s just my luck that I land back on the most hectic night of the year and have to make a few slight alterations to the NYE event, but they have proved worthwhile and things are looking good so smiles all round!
I’m slightly apprehensive on how 2009 is going to treat our already flagging Industry, what with the current financial situation as well, but everyone still needs to party and Im confident clubbers will make the right choice as to were to go!
Id also like to talk about the HDA - Your up for Best new face. Xstatic is up for Best Small Club and Storm is up for Best Large Club respectively. What does it mean to you to be up for 3 nominations?
It’s great! Last year I fell second as best new DJ and Xstatic came second as best small club, I was just pleased that people voted for me because they like my music, but I was genuinely pissed off when Xstatic came second!
This year I’m not going to go out my way to canvas for votes. Of course I would love to win an award and more so for Xstatic & Storm but if I walk away with nothing then so be it, the events speak for them selves we don’t need an award to prove it.
Good points there Jimmy.
You have an EP coming out in January on Deprivation Records, I have heard the tracks and love them do you have anymore in the pipeline and how are you feeling ahead of the release?
Deprivation is a highly respected label, when JP & Jukesy asked me to be part of Deprived of Funk I jumped at the chance! Converting over to CD was inevitable and is a lot more convenient for all.
I have been waiting so long to start banging out my releases - January can’t come quick enough! Next year I will be in the studio at least twice a month so expect a lot more releases from me! Oh and keep an eye out for the Deprivation Hard House cd, you should be able to get it from HMV and most good record stores towards the end of January!
Right a big question, who are you most looking forward to seeing @ Storm on NYE, I know your be a very busy man but who do you hope you can catch?
All of them! I do my best to try an listen to a few tracks out of all the sets played, just to make sure the night is being driven in the right direction, but id probably say UK GOLD, oh shit, that’s Storm Classics on 31st January isn’t it!!
Crikey that’s one not to be missed!!
Quick Fire Round. Favourite drink:
Red or white with food. JD & Coke, Extra Cold Carling, Vodka!
Britney or Christina?
Both together at the same time!!
JP or Jukesy?
Hahahahahaha!!! Jukesy is the mouth, JP’s the brains! Looking forward to Jukesy dressing up as a monkey @ Xstatic on Valentines day though, hopefully he will play all of his tracks once this time!
Thanks again for your time Jimmy do you have anything you else you would like to say while we have some space left on the page?
Eat, Drink & have a very Merry Christmas!
J x
