Up Close & Personal with Rodi Style Ahead of Blessed 2nd Birthday Saturday May 10th 2008

Interview with Rodi Style ahead of Blessed 2nd Birthday on Saturday May 2008 @ Level Three Club in Kettering, Saturday May 10th 2008.

We caught up with Rodi during his busy schedule of photographs and Monopoly.

Mike: Good evening Rodi and welcome to our little town of Kettering – What brings you here?

Rodi: Hello Mike, nice to meet you, I’m currently in Kettering for a photo shoot with Ben Thomas for the upcoming ‘Music For A Harder Generation’ album for Tidy. I’ve got a few spare hours to kill before going to the shoot so I’ve had a wander around Kettering and had some McDonalds to collect some more Monopoly pieces.

Mike: That sounds wicked, how is the album coming along? Have you won anything at McDonalds yet?

Rodi: The album is really great! I’ve finished recording my CD so that’s off to Sam @ Tidy for mastering purposes and I’m extremely happy with the way things turned out! Hopefully everyone will as well! *Buy it June 23rd dooo iitt!*

I’ve had no luck with Monopoly yet although I have won an apple pie. I haven’t collected on my winning yet though. Perhaps after the shoot if I get hungry.

Mike: How’s your diary looking so far? Have you touched Amo’s lucky bald head yet?

Rodi: My diary’s looking very exciting at the moment. This weekend I make my debut at Polysexual in Birmingham which I’m super excited for and the following week is my residency at Resistance in Lincoln as well as an exclusive trance set at A+E in Hereford along with my long time producing partner Chris Wan under our Leung & Wan alias.

As for that lucky bald head you speak of, I have not yet been privileged to touch it. Perhaps I will be fortunate enough in a few years!

Mike: Moving on, it’s Blessed 2nd birthday on May 10th, are you looking forward to cake, fun and excitement?

Rodi: Yea it’s gonna be fun! Happy early birthday to you guys!

Mike: Word on the street is that you’re quite the technical DJ. What can you tell us about it? Are there any specific pieces of equipment you prefer?

Rodi: *In a deep Morpheous like voice* It is true what you have heard… I enjoy changing things up a bit on the decks much like guys like James Zabiela and Eddie Halliwell. As far as equipment goes, my choice setup would be 3 x CDJ1000’s, 2 x turntables, DJM800 and an EFX1000. I love Pioneer equipment long time.

Mike: Tell us something interesting that is completely irrelevant to Rodi Style as a DJ.

Rodi: At the local carnival/fair in Calgary, I used to *USED TO* blow ridiculous amounts of money playing that Dance Dance Revolution game.

Many thanks to Rodi Style for taking time to answer some questions. We look forward to seeing Rodi at Blessed on Saturday May 10th 2008 @ Level Three in Kettering for a fantastic party night.
