Fidget, Dubstep, Electro, and BASS in Northampton???
Hey everyone, hope you're well :) I first posted this on the 'Northampton' page, but I think people tend to look at the venue pages more, so I guessed it would be better in here.

I'm looking for a bit of local advice and input. I run a label called 'Silo Recordings' - it started as a breakbeat label in '06, but has developed to match my own tastes over the years. Recent tracks and remixes on Silo have come from the likes of Far Too Loud, Deepgroove, Dilemn, Riva Starr, Afghan Headspin, and more, with attention in the dance music press and airplay on stations including Kiss and Radio 1. You can check the website if you like here - www.silorecordings.com (linkage to sites with clips included).

I spent my teens in Kettering, but left to go to London around 10 years ago. I then spent a few years in the midlands, and I came back to Northants about a year ago. I haven't really had my ear to the ground with regard to the region's clubs or popular scenes, but I'm keen to find out. In particular I want to find out a bit more about the vibe towards fidget, dubstep, and simlarly wobbly bass driven styles. This is the direction I'm looking to take Silo in, possibly with an offshoot label, and I'm asking since I'm eager to look at getting out there and getting involved - either with other people and existing nights, or through maybe starting my own.

The most well recognised thing I think I can compare in reference to what I'm talking about is Annie Mac's 'Mash Up' show on Radio 1. As another example of the sound I'm talking about, some names that spring to mind are Rusko, Hi Jack, Herve, Benga, Andy George, A Trak, Duke Dumont, Herve, Skream, The Others, Diplo, Switch, Jesse Rose, and a few labels are Tempa, Dubsided, Dub Police, Mad Decent, Potty Mouth, Kitsune, Boyz Noize, Hench, and Fools Gold.

Can anyone help fill me in?

Cheers :)
