So it starts off as your normal London Friday night out:

-get home from work,
-have a shower,
-change outfit 5 times,
-cover bedroom floor in entire wardrobe,
-redo hair 6 times and then realise it'll only end up in a ponytail anyway so why bother trying,
-hang around for friends eating whatever's in the fridge so you can at least say you ate.

And then it gets a bit different:

-jump in car
-set sat nav system up
-drive for over 2 hours through dark fields seeing only trees and cars along the way...no buildings or signs of civilisation whatsoever.
-be puzzled as to why there are so many damn roundabouts and so few houses.

And then it got truely Unique:

-arrive in Norwich at 11.15 expecting to hear a warm up, but instead find the party in full swing with Jack Barham boucning around the decks upstairs with an fantastic amount of energy, threatening to bang his head on the ceiling with every bounce. (Thankfully the crowd were dancing to much to worry about Jacks wellbeing).

-be welcomed by what seemed like every single person in there, checking we were ok and having fun and had drinks. I think at that stage we could have asked for the holy grail and someone would have been kind enough to find it for us!

-After worrying about the heath and safety issues involved with having someone as tall as Jack DJing in that fairly confined booth, common sense prevails and in comes John Charles! Once again the music steps up a notch, as is right at that time in the party, and I find myself standing at the bar watching the rooms energy lift AGAIN!

-It was becoming quite a worry for me that the week at work is beginning to catch up with me and I might start to weary, and yet I can't stop dancing. I tried. I just couldn't!

-Before we know it, it's 2am and it's time for the special guests to play. Now between you and me, I know that Jnr was feeling a little concerned about playing after Jack and John, as he knows that they turn a crowd on and give them the dirtiest, bounciest, filth - where's he meant to go after that? But it's a great complement to the boys and worked really well too because Jnr and Chris pulled off an absolute stormer!!

-Chris and Jnr pitched their B2B set perfectly to the UM crowd:happy friendly sexy bouncy pure unadulterated filth (which I know sounds like a contradiction in (many) terms, but believe me, it's an intoxicating combination!)

These boys really know how to throw a party...and I could gush about it some more, but if you want to know what it's really like you'll just have to come next time!

So my Friday went from the normal to the Unique. And I couldn't be happier about it! It was worth every painful mile of the journey home, to know that we made the effort and it paid off.

I have a funny feeling I might make Norwich my 2nd home.





(I didn't make it downstairs though...which is my only regret, but I'm sure someone can fill us in on what happened down there!)

OMG.....since when has my home town been trendy enough to have Jnr?!?! I really need get back there ASAP....gone are the days of peppermint park, hy's, liquid & ritzy's; i am well impressed the scene has moved on! Thank you norwich and all those at UNIQUE Music on Friday i had a brilliant time the music and the venue are top class and everyone made me feel so welcome and were so friendly i felt i had been going for years, long live the Barhams!! lol :). You have me hooked and coming again and again to future Uniques without a doubt and a SPECIAL hello to the Fox sorry babe i was a bit worse for wear and if a seemed a bit vaccant on Friday i will make up fpr it when i se ya again!!
