Overdose returns with another night of the best upfront underground house with leicester's very own Organic DJ's, Digital Dub & Paul Dawson playing on 4 CDJ's and 2 mixers. These boys come highly recommended from the one and only Sonny Wharton, so expect the finest tunes and tightest mixing!!

Usual suspects SpinMonkeys will be in support playing their own unique blend of spankingly good underground house music!!

Owyn Sidwell, aka Digital Dub, is an underlined example of why determination and shear talent are indispensable to the route of success. Since making his club debut at the age of 16, his hard work has seen him play the likes of The Emporium, Gatecrasher and Godskitchen whilst constantly pushing his own club night Organic.

‘This boy works hard, plays harder!’ Seen Magazine

07 started off promising for the youngster, playing the closing set at Godkitchen’s NYE Sanctuary Reunion party, and then going on to perform main stage at The Works in Birmingham on New Years Day. It then stepped up another level this summer, featuring in the Trashed! arena at Scotland’s highly prestigious Wickerman Festival, promptly followed by a plane journey to Spain to make his Ibiza debut.

Digital Dub is one of a rare breed of artists able to read the crowd and deliver the goods in an instant. Renowned for his 3 CDJs & FX sets, he stands out from other DJs with his continuous enthusiasm and infectious passion to rock a crowd.

‘An inimitably talented DJ’ (Neil Stacey, www.connecteddjs.co.uk)

‘A great DJ – with his talent and commitment he will go very far’ (Sonny Wharton, www.sonnywharton.com)

In the short space of time that Paul has been around he has made a huge impact on the clubbing scene in not only in his hometown of Leicester but also across the Midlands. Although he has only been making public appearances since early 2005, he has been defining his skills and inimitable sound for more than six years. From humble beginnings with the usual two-deck system, he now plays an eclectic house and electro funk sound from three CDJs and a Pioneer FX unit, utilising samples and accapellas throughout his sets.
His first big break came when he was invited to play a warm up set at a ‘Local Heroes’ night at top Leicester venue Helsinki. The enthusiasm and energy the crowd experienced from his set instantly landed him a second gig. From then on it was non stop, with Paul securing his first residency at up and coming bar/club Marz Bar. Things really fell into place when he launched his own Friday night event, Casa, at Leicester’s premier after club Havana – a first for the venue on Friday nights. This was the after party to his slot at Marz and, following a slow start, the crowds escalated as word started to circulate. Due to Paul’s hard work promoting the night, and the fact he only used local residents and no ‘big-name’ DJ’s, it proved to be a massive success with staunch house fans and clubbing virgins alike.
Then came the call from Digital Dub of Organic Promotions. The offer to work with this talented DJ and brand proved too good to turn down, and after a six-month stint building up his night at Havana, Paul passed the reigns over and moved on. Despite a change of name, Friday nights at Havana are still going strong to this day, which says a lot for Paul’s vision and commitment to doing something different. Irrespective of fads and trends, it was, and still is, all about representing quality house music.

Since joining forces with Digital Dub and Organic Promotions, Paul’s profile has spiralled rapidly throughout the Midlands. Together they have launched Organic in Shrewsbury, off the back of which they have secured a bi-monthly residency with legendary Shrewsbury night, Invasion, hosting ‘The Music Box’. They have also played ‘The Red Room’ at The Emporium for Speekafreeka, where they were such a hit they were moved to the main room for the next event. But the boys’ biggest achievement to date came during the New Year, which saw them ringing in 2007 smashing up the main room for the newly Gatecrasher-owned ‘Works’ nightclub in Birmingham.

The boys are currently working on new events in Leicester and Northampton. Combine this with the launch of their new website – www.organicpromotions.co.uk – in March, business courses to propel the brand into the future and beyond, and some raw production ideas, Paul Dawson and Digital Dub are about to get the exposure their hard work, commitment, enthusiasm – and of course, talent – deserves.
