Mode nightclub has undergone a £1.5 million refit on the former site of McClusky's and prior to that Essence, on the city's Goldsmith Street. For people looking for stylish, upmarket late night entertainment, it is first in a series of developments for Springwood Leisure who operate thirty clubs across the UK from their base in the East Midlands.
With a capacity of 1,200 people, Mode will have four distinct operating areas. The new lounge bar at the front entrance will accommodate 300 people and provide a range of drinks and contemporary tapas-style grazing food' with table service for early evening customers. Contemporary in design with wood, drapes and leather sofas throughout the venue, the main dance areas and three of the bars will be on a single floor.
The main dance area will overlook the lounge through porthole windows in what is described as an iconic pebble wall. The dance area will be ringed by 8 pod' areas, a first in East Midlands. Expected to become an early favourite among club goers, the pods are designed to provide space for a party within the party.
Each will have its own sound delivery system. Mode2, with a capacity of 200, will be created to offer a place for private functions and as a quieter relaxation area downstairs from the main dance area. Mode will operate seven nights a week from 5pm until 3am with food served during all trading hours in the lounge bar.
