Jon O’Bir’s life changed back in September 2002 when he won a DJ competition for Passion and M8 magazine, beating 300 other aspiring DJ’s! UK Super brand Godskitchen offered the talented trancer a residency soon after and the prospect of a fledging career as Britain's next DJ sensation. Six years and thousands of air miles later, Jon has become one of the most highly regarded trance Dj’s on the planet! His sets are forward thinking, cutting edged, trance blessed journeys that have captivated crowds across the globe amazingly all of this has been achieved by the age of 24!

The Nottingham based nu-trance master has been one of few trance dj’s to grace the airwaves of Radio 1 in the form of the critically acclaimed ‘Essential Mix’ in 2005 and as part of ‘The Residency’ alongside 6 other DJ’s including Eddie Halliwell and Nic Fanciulli in which they presented 6 of their own shows, broadcasted live on the UK’s most listened to station! Jon returned to the hollowed Radio 1 airwaves on 16th May with an interview and full fire mix for Eddie Halliwell!

Jon’s first steps into the studio began in 2003 where he compiled the Godskitchen ‘Worldwide’ compilation as part of his residency. Jon’s first few projects were collaborations alongside Gareth Emery and Airwave. ‘Escapade’, ‘Bouncebackability’ and ‘No Way Back’, produced with Gareth Emery and ‘Promise I Made’ produced with Airwave were all well supported releases. With the knowledge gained from the collaborations, Jon hit the studio to create his first solo production ‘Effectual’ and soon to follow was ‘Ascendancy’. The talented trancer also worked on a number of remixes, including the massive ‘Jose Amnesia – Louder’ released on Armin van Buuren’s Armada label. Jon has spent the early part of last year working purely on his own productions, none other than the legendary Paul van Dyk signed Jon’s first artiste album ‘From Within’ to his huge record label Vandit that saw a worldwide release on 11th July 2008. The first single ‘Ways & Means’ taken from the album was released on Vandit on 8th May and featured a remix from Paul Van Dyk himself! The second single taken from the album ´From Within´´Do It All Again´ features the haunting vocals of Emi over Jon´s trademark uplifting and pumping sound is released soon so keep your ears peeled for it! The new ´Answers and Prophase´ EP is finally complete and has been signed by Vandit with the release date to be March/April 2009!

As well as being a DJ & Producer, Jon is also label manager of Conspiracy Recordings, created in the summer of 2005 by himself and Rob Stevenson (Activa). The label continues to release high quality tracks produced by a variety of new and established artists that are gaining support from all the main protagonists in the scene. Jon hosts his own monthly radio show ‘Ways & Means’ which continues to grow in popularity with listeners on v arious worldwide radio stations such as ETN, Vonyc & Tillate are airing the show on a regular basis.
