Dot to Dot - Another awesome day and night!
Dot to Dot Festival 2010 - after weather conditions in the recent few days had been miserable the sunshine came out for the festival, it somewhat indicated the eagerly anticipated festival was going to be a fantastic success. Alcohol was flowing in excess as the early acts began playing at half past one in the afternoon at the Rock City Basement, kicking off with Ocean Bottom Nightmare broadcasting there distinctive sound of psychedelic hard rock. With such an early start you'd expect diminished numbers in the crowd however the basement was rammed already.

The surrounding streets of the Nottingham were clustered with "Dot to Dotters" all over the place navigating to and from each venue to avoid missing anyone. When you've got headliners like Los Compassions and the Mystery Jets clashing on the order of play it’s just impossible to please everyone, however I had to choose the Jets. The doorways at Rock City right at the back were blocked with fans, the balcony was totally packed and the dance floor was absolutely full to the brim. The first half of the set reminded me of there performance at reading festival last year, where for one of the first times before in my amazement seeing a front man who sits down for the majority of the gig capture the attention of a huge crowd even with lesser known songs and within the similar size venue the front man achieved this again. As thought, they finished on their hit "Two doors down" which created a sea of raised arms as the song totally embraced the audience.

Shortly after the Mystery Jets had finished it was time for one of dubsteps most talented to hit the stage. That be James Jacob widely know as Jakwob. For his first time in Nottingham he was incredible, gathering a fantastic reaction from the crowd as he demonstrated his vast musical ability spinning the decks, formerly belonging to heavy metal and jazz bands. Creator of the huge remix of Ellie Gouldings "Starry eyed" making it a more than appropriate song to end on.

Finally the last headline to perform was Radio 1 DJ, Zane Lowe and in my eyes probably the best act of the festival for entertainment and crowd reaction. Simply because he delivered set which had depth, freshness and most of all variety. With such a broad variety of his set songs it managed to cater for wide range of fans taste, dropping tracks like "Hip Hop -Dead Prez" (dubstep remix) and then later on "War" by Edwin Starr, it made his performance truly awesome.

Other acts such as Ellie Goulding, Doorly, Gentleman’s Dub Club + many more all contributed to make it another brilliant festival, with next years early bird tickets already on sale - theres no reason not to get involved!
