2007 ends on a high :)
I'd like to begin with a few quotes by Mike Greenwell. They are taken from his Essential Guide 2007 Club Review in the Nottingham Evening Post (28th Dec - 3rd Jan).

"For clubbers and promoters, 2007 has been an unpredictable year and frustrating on both sides of the turntables. Nights which have offered a new DJ or brand of music - unfamiliar to the city in the main - have not fared as well as their promoters have expected. Delivering a night of quality music to Nottingham, with a much-talked-about name or established DJ, does not guarentee as much interest from punters as it used to.

A number of factors may contribute - the effect of the smoking ban on the venue, the outlawing of flyering in Nottingham, alternative nights that clash - but an apathy in music fans also seems to exist.

A lot more comes down to the willingness of Nottingham's clubbers to get out and about and support their city's nightlife, however."

So...

It was a difficult start for us, slowly building up a following. Unpredictability turned up for us. After the sucess of event 3, event 4 was very low on numbers, which was surprising as we'd put a lot of time, money and effort in. After that, I wasn't sure what to expect in November. Teaming up with Tim TDS proved to work well. November's event saw our best turn out yet and Hard House ruling in room 3.

Onto the 28th December, Sensation Vs Hardcore is the Future was a collaboration between myself and Lee (Sensation) and Gummie & Dane-volve (HiTF). Thanks to the input from HiTF we were able to put on our best line up to date.

Looking back on the night I can tell you that the turn out wasn't as good as November's event but you wouldn't of believed it if you were in the main room. There were ravers, proper raving, raving everywhere. The atmosphere was alive and the crowd kept going all night. The b2b set J.K.O and I did was fantastic (ravers?). I really enjoyed it, best set yet, not technically but you know what I mean :)

Unfortunatly I wasn't able to see everyone DJ and can't comment on every aspect of the night. I believe we have a few videos of the night though which should provide ample pleasure. I shall post when they're uploaded.

A few quotes:

WOW WAT A NITE the sets was wicked, asbo and friction slamed it out, big up CRID for the set, nice one if you was going to come but never made it SHAME IT WAS PHAT

top night loved it this is an up and coming night deffo will get bigger and bigger!!!

Have been 2 all Sensation events n the numbers r getting there. Startin 2 see alot of familiar faces! If it woznt so close 2 new year I imagine numbers wud av been better. Top nite tho, everyone there ad a WKD nite! :O) Fab Djs, top tunes n of course the ravers!! :O)

It was a quality night, well done to all the ravers who could keep up.

Thanks to the people who posted, you know who you are.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to mention DJ's Topvibe, Explicit, Gummie, Dane-volve, Jon Jon, Phil Friction, Cumbo, Audio Terrorist, Scratch E, JKO, AirLab, Ned Hobbs, Jamie Knowles, Danny Beats, BSP, DJ P*ill, Tyronnster, Sair, Sonny-Darko. Thank-you for all turning up and making the party what it was. Big-ups go to MC's Crid and Mojo as well as the other 2? Thanks to all the staff at The Venue and to John for giving us an opportunity. Special thanks finally goes to all the ravers. Everyone who's supported us, whether you've been there from the start or have only made one event, we salute you.

Onwards to 2008!

Considering the fact that I couldn't really be bothered with going out, I can honestly say that I well and truly enjoyed myself.
I realised i'd left my inhalers at home just as we were coming off the M1 at J25 so had to take it easy with the stomping anyway.
Everyone played a wikid set in the main room but my favourite had to be Friction b2b Jon Jon - especially the last 10mins or so - where did everyone disappear to?!?, think there was only about 4 of left on the dance floor - ahaha.
Nice one Mike for letting us have 1 more - what was it I shouted when you asked us if we wanted 1 more?, "course I fuckin do, have bin needing some gabba all night" - mwa mwa mwa.
