Facefunk is planning to bring a series of underground heroes and heroines to Oxford for the discerning clubber. However, these nights are not about serious, heads down shoe gazing; instead they are a celebration of dance music, an opportunity to see new and exciting acts, upcoming producers and DJs, and more established names, all in the intimate Baby Simple. We do not have a fixed music policy, instead booking DJs who are exciting to us, who will suit the vibe of Baby Simple, and above all, who will make us want to dance.
But we cannot do all of this without you, the clubber, to tell us what or who you want to see...
Part of our ethos is to keep the same value for money for all our nights. Therefore where possible we will not alter the door price for bigger name DJs or brands - instead, these will be part funded by the events either side of them. However, in order for this to work all nights, whether big names or not will need to be busy. To enable this to happen, we will not always announce our full line-ups in advance, so that if you miss a night you could be missing something very special...

Funkface [Kinky Angel, Bournemouth]
As a collective, Funkface are relative newcomers to the scene. Although the concept first saw the light of day in 2006, it was not until early 2007 that Funkface played their first official sets together. However, the combination was an immediate success, with gigs being booked up fast and management interest from a number of credible high profile clubbing brands.
Funkface’s style is most definitely the sound of now. High energy, pumping house music is the order of the day and Funkface are equipped to offer a variety of styles within this remit. Playing across both vinyl and CD, and using large amounts of acapellas, DJ tools, loops and samples, the duo are equally at home playing upfront electro house, funky house, or tribal house – anything with the party vibe – often in the same set!
Forthcoming projects for Funkface include their initial forays into studio production, the creation of their record label, artist agency and clubbing brand Facefunk, and numerous mix-tape concepts. Funkface are always on the look out for new and exciting music to play and release.

DJ Neil The Pornstar [Gatecrasher; Heaven; Ibiza]
Neil the Pornstar is a name that is known globally for being the showman and genre breaking technical badboy of electro and breaks. This mean feat hasn’t come easily, and boy has this kid worked hard to gain such a reputation. It started in the early days at the tender age of 16. He started cutting up the scene in his hometown of Oxford at ice rinks, local clubs and free parties playing trance and hard dance. He soon progressed into funky house and at 16 was in the finals for young UK club DJ of the Year… At 17 he played his first underage gig and the talent was captured for audiences pure pleasure.
Starting this young Put neil ahead of his game. There is now no stopping the man. Capturing this badboy live is a standard aural assignation of 3 decks and efx units with enthusiasm practically breaking the box.
In 2007 production skills have firmly set dancefloors alight, with support of Radio1’s Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules, Trophy Twins and Ed Real, Nick Sentience, Kelevra and Little Gem to name just a handful. You should seriously be warned this kid is hot property, and bites. Let the porn commence…
