For just shy of 15 years, ‘Slide’ has brought to Oxford the cream of the world’s electronic music talent, including Radio Soulwax, Groove Armada, Carl Cox, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, M.A.N.D.Y, Simian Mobile Disco’s first ever live show and James Holden’s first ever residency.
On Friday 9 October, we welcome one of the scene's fastest rising stars, Style Of Eye, to the Academy, for what promises to be one of the highlights of the autumn Oxford clubbing calendar.

Described as the new sultan of Scando techno, Style Of Eye's recent remixes of Lily Allen, VV Brown and Empire of the Sun plus his fantastic Radio 1 Essential Mix make him one of the DJ/Producers of the moment.
Starting out working in the studio in the late 90s, he began to develop his unique style of music with releases and remixes on such prolific labels as Classic Recordings, Tiny Sticks and Rabid Records, or most recently on Dirtybird and John Dahlbäck’s Pickadoll label.
His understanding of electronic music goes far beyond stereotyped thinking as you can tell from going through the list of different labels he has released on. Linus melts down electrish bleeps, hysteric synthezisers, raw percussions, minimalism, big mouthed basses and soulful chords in order to create the club destroying monsters.
After the success of “The Big Kazoo” E.P (Dirtybird) (#1 on the Heavy Rotation in IDJ´s February Issue), followed up by “The Prophet” (Pickadoll). His releases are being played by such well-known names as Sven Väth, John Dahlbäck, Claude VonStroke, Tiga, and Laurent Garnier, M.A.N.D.Y amongst many others.
Slide resident Rich Smith is joined by birthday boy Andy Howarth, Tom Baker and debutant Jarvus behind the decks.
