TOOB

Rich Thair (drums) - - Jake [one] Williams (electronics/vocals)
Live drums, electronics, vocals. Toob take all that they love in dub, afrobeat, breakbeat and electro and throw it back out of the speakers with the full-on, freeform energy of a true live band.
Formed when Jake, originally from Oxford, was twiddling knobs for Rich's previous band, Red Snapper - Jake started feeding twisted, off-key loops into Rich's monitor during sound checks, who then proceeded to lock-in on the drums. Liking what they heard they played some gigs.
The result is a powerful, improvised and possibly unique mash-up of beats and sound. They write as they go - the jams shaping their recorded tracks and pleasing club and festival-goers in the UK, Europe and beyond greatly in the process.
They have released 12"s on Groovetech, Flameboy and Lo Recordings and their debut LP, "How to Spell Toob" was released on Lo Recordings May 2005. The singles have been praised and played by a diverse range of top DJs from Rolando to Rob da Bank, but the album also contains some more delicate moments featuring singer/songwriter Zoe Bicat.
Toob forge on. They are road-testing new material and have started to put it down as the basis of the second album -
The music mutating and moving forward with each show...

DJ HYPER

Bedrock Breaks compilations a few years back, plus his own double mix comp Wired in 2004, and the creation of the super cool Waxworks Promo Company, Hyper has secured himself a place amongst the top musical players and he now resides in Oxford.
His confidence is transparent in everything he does from the running of his label Kilowatt, his growing list of high-end remixes and his continuous touring.
In 2005 Hyper returned to the studio to complete his debut artist album, set for release in May 2006. Expect a complete long player that weaves and bobs in new directions while keeping its feet firmly placed on the dance floor pulse of electronic music. Rather like the man himself, in fact.
Along side a busy DJ schedule that took in tours to Australia, frequent visits to the USA, Kuala Lumpur, Japan, China, Thailand, most of Europe and of course the UK, HYPER found time to produce and release the single Come With Me on Timo Maas's 420 and to remix Overseer, The Hives and A-Ha!, produce exclusive tracks for EA Games, and had various tracks appear on film and TV including CSI Miami & Channel 4's Dispatchers
In 2004 Hyper saw the release of "Wired" the latest instalment of Hyper's musical leanings, remixes for the Sugababes, Pink, BT, Paul Van Dyk and more, a 46 date tour of the United States with 'The Crystal Method', incendiary club releases under his own name, book ended by shows in China, Germany, Australia, Japan and of course here at home in Oxford.
