Ok for those who know me (and for the people who don't) I really don't like hardcore, I mean if its at an event that I'm going to, I'm know to hide out in the hardhouse room instead! But when Jef asked me to go along to Gsus' night I thought that I would go down and support him even though I wasn't really keen on all the hardcore.

But boy was I wrong!! The event was wicked!!!! I've just got in from there and because I had such a good time I thought that I would write my first ever review! The venue is cosy but without feeling cramped,if you fancied a break from the hardcore/hardstyle then there was a room downstairs that had classic/retro dance music (you know the kind you find in cheesy clubs!) which made a nice change.

The staff were friendly but didn't feel intimidating,you knew they were there but you didn't feel watched over like you were up to no good. There was good seating and cool off areas as well.

The MC's were good and there was a good mix between them and the music,the main reason I went off hardcore a year ago was because I saw too many MC heavy sets. (meaning that they wouldn't shut up!)

All in all I had a really good time and when the next Gsus run event is up,I'll be at the front of the que!!

It was s stonking event... such a friendly crowd, awesome sets... I am a fan of Whitby but the night was cracking even without him!!!

The combining of the styles and the atmosphere in the comparatively small room... I cetainly feel the promotion can be up there with the big boys in time!

2Yrs ago i went to more hardcore gigs than hard house gigs, but that was mostly for freeform not hardcore...

Thanks for the review Soaps, really appreciated. Seeing Dougal, Gammer and the MC Whizzkid in my home town was truly a dream come true and to see a crowd thirsting for hardcore from up on the stage was just an amazing feeling.

The first MC you saw was Whizzkid and he is one of the best (if not the best) MCs in hardcore, he is a truly talented man and he is not wrapped up in himself at all. I can not think of anyone else I would have preferred to host the first hardcore set for many a year in Oxford.

Big up to all the Square One crew for last night, DJ Fear, Sam Eeles, AJ, Outlaw and everyone else who helped us to make this night a success.
