Saturday June 13th sees the biggest clubbing brand in the world bring its tour to Plymouth @ C103 nightclub on Union Street. 2009 has already been a massive year for one of the longest running clubbing experiences on the planet. January saw Slinky launch their online radio station Slinky.fm, which has already established itself as the biggest online dance station in the world, and April and May this year saw Slinky celebrate its 12th Birthday in some style, with 2 sell out events at one of the UK’s most prestigious venues and Slinky’s true home Bournemouth’s awesome Opera House!
C103 will be totally transformed with an all new Slinky decor install, full Slinky visuals and tons of tour giveaways! The event brings to Plymouth two of the biggest names in the world of dance music over the last decade, Marcel Woods and Lisa Pin-Up...
Marcel Woods
Marcel Woods is quite simply one of the biggest DJ’s in the world! There aren't many DJs on planet earth that can say that they have had the honour to headline Global Gathering, Mysteryland, Dance Valley and Trance Energy festivals in one season! Added to this, in 2008, Marcel became the only DJ ever to play at both Sensation White and Sensation Black, Holland's most infamous festivals. He has also made his mark on the UK festival scene, spinning at Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, Escape Into The Park, Coloursfest and Sanctuary to name just a few.
But it's not just DJing, it's also producing massive tracks, with the 2006 official Trance Energy Anthem 'Advanced' a bestseller in every territory around the globe and setting the benchmark for future projects. The follow-up, 'Monotone' was proclaimed an Essential Tune by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 While his next solo outing 'Lemon Tree' became one of the biggest tracks of the summer festival season in 2007, Marcel completed the year on another high with a coveted Essential Mix broadcast to an audience of millions on BBC Radio 1.
Playlist support has been nothing short of comprehensive, with A list DJs such as Tiesto, Marco V, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Sander Van Doorn are hammering Marcel's productions. It's because of this global production success that Marcel Woods the DJ is in such massive demand. Europe, Asia, North and South America or Australia, the world wants to hear his sounds. From intimate clubs to a massive beach event in Sao Paolo, Brazil or Godskitchen Global Gathering in Malaysia, to UK club events such as Gatecrasher, Gallery, Slinky, Inside Out and Goodgreef, the enigmatic Dutchman delivers roof raising sets each and every time.
Lisa Pin-Up
Dj, producer/extraordinaire:- Lisa Pin-Up is one of the few female djs to acquire true global status. On the decks she is a legend, known for her skilful mixing, anthemic sounds and the ability to turn any dance floor into a seething frenzy. Off the decks she is a prolific producer, releasing 20 tracks on Nukleuz records, an original member of the legendary tidy girls EP and continuing to be a tidy girl with their brand new EP released Oct 2008. In recognition of her success DJ magazine has now voted Lisa the 2nd highest Hard Dance DJ in the UK for the past 3 years! Throughout her career Lisa has mixed gold discs selling compilations, produced her very own artist album entitled "Biggest Baddest Mutha", set up 4 record labels, released over 40 tracks for various labels, been the Hard Dance ambassador for Bacardi, appeared in a Loaded Magazine hot babe feature as well as gracing the front cover of many a dance magazine!
Supporting our headline guests will be southwest trance hero Simon Pitt (Slinky.fm / Electra), Terminal Trax’s up and coming production star Loki and Premonition and Distortion resident Hakka. Room 2 will be hosted by FastTrack Hardcore, with DJ’s Elzy, Chris Green, Mikey C, Dan Berry, Jamie Allen, Sean Hamley, Kinger and Maff Dillon + MC’s Age-O / Jay P / Billy B.
