March 14th sees the launch party of Plymouth's brand new hard dance night Distortion at Plymouth’s biggest dance venue C103!! Distortion will be hosting a monthly event bringing to Plymouth the very best & biggest hard dance DJ’s from across the UK and the world! This event will feature tons of giveaways with everyone receiving a free mix CD + loads of other freebies on the night!!
For this special launch night we bring you a truly awesome line-up! First up, we welcome a true pioneer of hard trance, one of the biggest DJ’s & Producers in the world for over 10 years, flying out from Germany, we proudly present DJ Scot Project! His unique combination of hard percussive rhythms mixed with melodic trance elements have made him one of the most successful DJs / producers in dance music history. Over the past few years Scot Project has created waves in club land with his show-stopping performances at leading events such as Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Slinky, Global Gathering, Homelands, Dance Valley, Sensation and many many more festivals and clubs around the globe!
It was Scot Project’s massive 'U (I Got A Feeling)' release on Overdose that first propelled the Germany legend to a global audience, with the track picked up by Positiva (UK), Adrenalin (US), Central Station (Australia) and various other labels around the world. To this day 'U' has featured on more compilation CDs than any other dance track in history - over 50 and counting! After 10 years at the top of the scene that he helped create, Scot Project released his first ever artist album, the critically acclaimed A1 in 2005, and more recently he's been creating a massive buzz under his latest name, Tocs, with the '1' and '2' releases on his own Druck Records label getting huge cross genre playlist support from the trance and tech trance scenes. Quite simply Scot Project is one of the biggest names of our time, a true legend, a true master of his art and an inspiration to 1000’s.
Our 2nd headline guest slot goes to the biggest hardstyle duo in the UK, a pair that have been at the top of the UK hard dance scene for many years! It’s impossible to mention Hard Dance in the UK without bringing Cally & Juice into the conversation. Their clever and unorthodox style behind the decks has won them many admirers around the globe and their constant re-writing of the rules keeps people flocking to the front of the decks to see what they’ll be doing next! Whether it’s frantic scratching over drum & bass or hip hop beats, scratching with feet, blindfolded scratching or even hand-spins on the decks, you can guarantee these boys will keep you entertained!
Our 3rd guest slot goes to 2 of the scene’s finest rising stars, Louk and Joe-E, playing a special bk2bk set to kick the party off in style! Having recently set up his own label Compulzion, Louk is going from strength to strength! With a whole host of both national and international bookings lined up for 2009, a string of recent remixes and his new radio show on SlinkyFM, Louk is without doubt one of the hardest working DJ’s on the circuit today! Likewise Trancefuzion’s Joe-E has been making waves with his outstanding productions, attracting rave reviews in the likes of DJ Mag, I-DJ and Mixmag and airplay on the UK’s biggest station Radio 1!
Completing the line-up are two of Distortion’s residents! We proudly give you the Terminal Trax co-owner, Premonition resident for over 4 years, the southwest’s king of hardstyle and up and coming production star... Pete Kingwell!! Our 2nd resident on the night playing a driving hard trance into hardstyle set is another up & coming star in the production world, Plymouth’s very own crazy kid K-Front!!
As if that wasn’t enough, room 2 will play host to the sound of electro, trance, trance classics and house with After Dark residents Damien James & Jamie Allen + more!
